My dryer heats up but the drum does not rotate im going to try and see if the belt has broken any other suggestions?

Most likely belt has broken. Once in awhile, the belt will work its way off if you had weird loads like shoes or something. The other likely possibility is the motor. Motors are very simple to replace as well.

My whirlpool duet electric dryer electrical systems and heat work fine, but drum won't turn and belt is in tact.

Check the motor capacitor, sometimes the capacitor could be faulty or the motor is faulty or check if the motor is receiving power,if it's receiving power try to replace the capacitor if the is any in the system,if still it's not working then the motor could be burnt.

Also check weather the timer is perfecty.

I have whirlpool duet wed9200sq. The dryer seems to be working fine other than the drum will not turn. It heats fine and the drum will turn by hand, the belt is fine, no warning codes or other problems.

The drum and belt may be fine but the motor may not be. Since you seem to have access to the drum and belt, you can check to see whether the motor starts. Also check to see whether the belt and tensioner device are working OK

My dryer is working but the element is not getting hot is there a fuse or another part I can get for a Whirlpool Special edition 3 cycle dryer

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

I have a Whirlpool Special Edition 3-Cycle gas dryer that turns fine but will not heat up. How can I narrow down the problem? The gas valve is on.

Ignitor is often the problem. Best instructions are here

If that doesn't get it full troubleshooting can be found:

The list is in order of most likely to least likely.

Hi, your site looks awesome ! I just got a dryer

Check to see if the belt has slipped off the motor pulley, or off of the idle arm pulley.
Also could be a broken belt.
Try turning the drum by hand by reaching inside the drum with the dryer off, once you give a 1/4-1/2 turn, then turn on the dryer sometimes the motor will restart as they get a dead zone in them sometimes

Kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
