If your sound card is not working, do the following;

Scan for viruses, spyware, malware, etc.
Uninstall and reinstall drivers for sound card. (go to www.hp.com do download the drivers).

If you still have no sound, try connecting a set of speakers or headphones to the computer. If you get sound then it's more than likely your speakers. You can order those online and go to www.youtube.com to see a video on how to replace them.

If you don't get sound to your external speakers/headphones then you need to get your system serviced at a pc tech shop.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!
