Depending what Operating system is on your PC. All you need to do is install the "Codec" Plugin to play the media files you want to play.

Suggestion, download and install the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

You can get the "codec" @ http://www.free-codecs.com/index.htm

or

You can install the VLC Player @ http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
or
MPCStar Player @ http://www.mpcstar.com/ which will play most of the AV formats.

Hope it helps.

How to play files

Select the media file you want to play and click it. If it plays in another media player then that's your default player. But you can also right click the file and select the media player you want to play it. If you want all media files to play back using VLC then select it as your default player.

How to play wmv files

Windows Media Video, or WMV files, is a type of video that can be played on your computer and portable media players. In the past, computer users have been known to have difficulties opening these files due to a flaw in Windows Media Player or the WMV file. These issues have since been resolved with the newer versions of Windows Media Player and other similar media players. WMV files should now open and play with ease.

Begin by downloading the latest version of Windows Media Player (see link in Below). http://www.filewin.net/Windows-Media-Player/download/?p=AU-DNM Windows Media Player is the default player for Windows Media Video files. If you have just purchased a new computer, the computer probably already has the latest version of the program. Right click on the WMV file you want to play. Select "Open With." Several different programs will appear in a small box. Choose "Windows Media Player." Windows Media Player will then open on your computer. Wait for the WMV file to load. When it does, a message may appear in Windows Media Player informing you that the WMV file is missing an extension. Click "Yes" and Windows Media Player will still attempt to load the file. The WMV file should then begin playing in Windows Media Player. Hope this helps.

Using usb stick

First you will have either copy and pate the movie or download it to your usb drive

One of the benefits of putting files on a USB flash drive is that you can make any type of file portable.

This includes not only documents, spreadsheets and photos, but also media like video clips and movies.

If you have movies saved on your flash drive that you want to view, watching the movies directly from the USB drive is a simple process and can be achieved on almost any computer.

Connect your USB drive to the device on which you want to watch your movies.

This includes all USB-compatible computers, as well as some select television-compatible devices (like the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Sony Media Extender).

Launch the file explorer application on your device.

In Windows, access this utility by accessing the "Computer" application and then double-clicking the USB drive to display the files.

If you are trying to watch the movie files on a compatible television device, look for a "media," "device" or "USB input" application or button to bring up the file explorer.

Select the movie file you want to play.

In Windows, do this by double-clicking on the file.

The appropriate media-handling program should automatically launch and begin playing the movie automatically.

If you are using a television device, select the file from the list of compatible files in the device's internal explorer system.

hope this helps

CANNOT PLAY 3GP FILES

There are several ways to play 3GP files. My personal favorite is VLC Media player (or if you prefer using Windows Media player, pls refer to 2)
  1. VLC ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) media player (freeware) is presented as the easiest solution to playing back many of the common multimedia files that are available. However, while VLC does in fact support the 3GP format, it does not include software to decode AMR audio. If your files have AAC audio then technically, VLC should be able to play your 3GP files.
  2. Windows Media Player can technically play 3GP files, but you will need to install some extra software. Firstly, the 3GP container needs to be accessible and then you also need software that can decode the video and audio (H.263, H.264, AAC, AMR). You can use either

Whenever i play 3gp file by media prayer classic it display en eroer

Windows media player will not play a 3gp file because it does not have the proper codec to play that file, and microsoft has not made a codec for their media player to play any 3gp files.

Realplayer SP will play your 3gp files and it is a free program. If you would like to try it out you can download it from Cnet here,

Unable to play video clips or avi file on media player 11

You need to play these files on VLC or in Media Player Classic. You can play almost any media file through them.
If you don't have any then you can download VLC media player from the following links:
for windows os zip file 16mb: http://videolan.cdn.cacheboy.net/vlc/0.9.9/win32/vlc-0.9.9-win32.exe
windows 26mb:http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/videolan/vlc/0.9.9/win32/vlc-0.9.9-win32.zip

& for mac 19mb: http://mirror.leaseweb.com/pub/software/videolan/vlc/0.9.9a/macosx/vlc-0.9.9a-intel.dmg

And if you want media player classic here is a link to download it: http://mirror01.x264.nl/x264/mpc2kxp6490.zip (212mb)

If these players cant play your files then might not have given enough time to download your torrent or must have downloaded corrupt file.

VIDEO FILES OF CANON SX10 IS NOT PLAYING IN WMP

H264 is a "mov." file. Windows media player11 and Power DVD 9 do not support this type of file. If you don't like QuickTime, there are many free media players that will support it (VLC is a good one). You could convert the mov. file to an avi. file with a video converter program. Then your avi. format movie will play in WMP
