From the sounds of it , when you aborted data certain files were corrupted from this abropt behavior and lost.
Best solution is to rebuild the operating system from scratch

Do u now have the full set of recovery disks.

Then run them as if u have a new disk.

The first time u messed up the system to the point of no repair?

Lost password after reinstallation

There are a couple methods which you can try:

When the computer first boots Windows you can press F8 to access an advanced boot menu.

From there you can choose to boot the computer in "Safe Mode" which changes the system start-up mode.

There should be a hidden user that appears as "Administrator" that you can select...

(When Windows is installed for the first time there is an option for the "Administrator" password. This password is not required and is usually left blank. If you left the password field blank then clicking on user will log you in automatically. Otherwise, you're required to enter the original password you choose to protect the system.)

Log-in into windows as "Administrator" and create a new user in the control panel that you can log-in to the system normally with.

Restart the computer and log-in under the newly created profile to regain access to your system.

If you can't log-in under your user or the administrator profile because you forgot both passwords you will have to do an advanced recovery process, or wipe the system completely.

(Here is a link for a Linux Boot CD image, burn to a disc and boot to change the Administrator password in Windows XP/Media Center/Server 2003 Systems.)

If this doesn't work you can boot to an alternative recovery disk, Windows CD/DVD, partitioning software, or third party password recovery tool.

When all else fails, you can delete and create a new partition; then you would have to run the Windows setup again to recover your Operating System and drivers.

Error: 0XC000000C; What's the solution?

My 0xc000000c problem seemed to result from disk surface damage on the restore DVD. I burned a new copy of the restore DVD and the restore then proceeded normally.

Using a DVD copy program that provides an aggressive read method to extract data from damaged disks might help you the most.

No operating system

Contact Acer and have them send you a new recovery disk. Be sure to have your computers paperwork handy when you talk to them. The problem" operating system could not be found" could be software or hardware related. I'd try to load the OS using the recovery disk first and see if that fixes the problem... mpawlak

Acer 7720 will not boot

Do you want to try and see if a 'Linux LiveCD' boots? This is the way I test if the computer works. You burn this CD to a disk, and then boot off of it when you're computer starts. I will not modify anything on your computer as long as you go to 'Try Ubuntu with out installing'

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

Don't worry, I'm not trying to get you to install anything, just see if it boots into the 'live environment' (means you are running it off of the cd) If this works, that means that it is only your windows installation is messed up, and a reinstallation of windows should work fine with a Windows install CD NOT the recovery cd.

Can't reboot Compaq/Presario desktop, (power supply is working)

If the system recovery disk doesn't work it usually mans that the hard drive is bad. I would change the hard drive and use the system recovery disk on it after replacement.

I can't do a full system recovery

It's very possible that your hard drive has failed, and the recovery is stopping because it's unable to read/write to/from the drive. Try a new hard drive.
