Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too. Height of exit hose (behind machine) should be approx 3 feet from ground level when you are re-fitting.

SOURCE: Washer Tub Fills With Water When Washer is Not On
I suspect you have a water inlet valve problem. When the valves fail, they tend to either leak by, or do not open at all. The symptom you are describing is typical of an inlet valve that is not closing properly. The leak may be minute, but over time, it fills the tub and over flows. To access the water inlet valve, you will need to remove the washer top panel. Remove the three screws in the back that hold the top in place and slide the panel straight back and lift off. The water inlet valve will be located on the left hand side in the rear between the fill hoses and the dispenser (as viewed from the front of the washer). If you wish to perform this repair yourself, you can find the part at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your complete model number and the part can be located on the next page under the "Dispenser Parts" section as item number one (part #8181694). The replacement process is very simple. Just turn off the water source, remove the fill hoses, the dispenser hose and the mounting screws. If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Spin Cycle on Wash Machine does not work
The problem is your lid switch. This is a common problem with this model washer, and a very simple & inexpensive problem to fix. Click on the following link for advice on how to replace:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r385198-replacing_lid_switch
You can find a replacment switch at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Cabinet Parts" heading on the next page. I believe thats the heading the part is listed under. Sears has excellent part locator drawings to assist you in identifying the part. Once you have the part number identified, you can do some comparative shopping at other online websites too. Use the part number that Sears provides, however. A new switch usually runs about $25 to $35. In addition, make sure you check the lid strike. This is a small plastic piece on the lid that is used to activate the lid switch through a small slot. If the lid strike is broken off, it will give the same symptoms of a defective lid switch. I hope this information helps you. Please post back if you have any questions.

You are right, the switch for the water seems to have gone bad and should be replace. It is located next to the timer with a adjusting screw on it.

SOURCE: When tub filling, it drains out at the same time.
The outlet of the drain hose must be higher than the water level inside the tub--normally the pump inside removes the water when needed. Get a plumber to install a proper height drain pipe for you.
