Where is the power button on a canoscan lide 70 scanner?


There is no power button on mine. It gets its power from the high speed usb so it is always ready. Every time I boot up my mac I hear the scanner go thru a warm up scan. I have downloaded the twain plugin for photoshop and access it that way. The lamp will go on when you preview scan something.

Canoscan LiDE 70 has started to make a grinding sound.


My suggestion is replace the motor but you might be into a few bucks out of pocket and a search for new motor issue. Many peopel at tihs point just buy a new scanner (just telling you the truth)

Scanners these days are a dime a dozen and it would probably cost lest just to replace the scanner.

When I try to scan with my canonscan lide 70 I get a message "specify the program where the scanned image is transferred"


You just need to point the program to where the scanning program was installed. If you just let it auto-load it should be here: (assuming you loaded the free toolbox software)
C:\Program Files\Canon\CanoScan Toolbox Ver5.0\CSTBox.exe
or just look at where the toolbox is installed by searching for the CSTBox.exe file.

Using Canoscan Lide 70. When trying to scan receive message "not enough room on target disk" When I reinstall Toolbox it works (for a while, then same repeats).


When you scan a picture, you send it to a "Target" folder which you can set up in your scan options or settings.

At a guess your current destination or target folder is getting to large for the hard drive that its registered on

You've 2 options, clean out the target drive or use the scan options to send your pictures to a new destination with plenty of space.

Is there a calibration option for Canon Canoscan Lide 70?


Im not sure if this specific scanner has one But what it would do is calibrate the lights in the scanner to pick up colors better and it would calibrate the position of the scanning bar.

Try going to CanoScan Toolbox > Settings and reset the 'defaults' button at bottom... this will restore factory settings and hopefully fix your problem... The other error message you can expect to get is "unable to scan - insufficent memory, check your **** space' (or something similar)... same fix works for both! ...Have had both messages on mine, sounds like a semi-regular conflict on some sort, but seems to be easily fixed. Canoscan lide 70


Head for the Canoscan Toolbox and click on "Settings".
Under "select folder where temporary files are saved", click on "browser".
Choose where you want the scanned item to be sent and then click 'OK".
This works for me.
