The brushes in the motor are probably shot. Good luck in finding those though, best to just replace the motor.

Dryer makes noise

Could be a couple problems. Hopefully simple like the belt getting worn, but if it's noisy that usually means the bearings are going on the drive motor. Check with the local repair man what it would cost for a new motor for the unit, but with the labour and parts you might be better off to pick up a new one.

My Akasa laptop cooling fan has become noisy after a good few years of use. where can i get it serviced

sounds like the bearings are bad in the motors. It would be cheaper to replace unit than fixing it. new fans/motors would cost more.

When i turn it on it's making a skreeching noise from the back what could it be?

The most common stuff that comes to mind first:
1) one of the rollers (there are 2) has worn out and they skreech as
they're being killed. I've even seen rollers fall apart, with the outer
part of the roller (the rubber part) squeaking as it revolves around a
frozen-on roller bearing.
FIX: replace roller(s) that're making noise
Cost of part: $10
2) the motor bearing are shot - they scream as they're being ground to dust.
Fix: replace motor.
Cost: if dryer is old, replace dryer. If Dryer under warranty, use it.

Drain light is flashing

Hi,

Check the motor for worn brushes and or noisy bearings while it is removed for service. Any auto mechanic should have experience replacing brushes and bearings. Much cheaper than ordering a new motor. New brushes and bearings should cost around $30.

Thanks

Tumble dryer works ok but its really really noisy.

Sounds like you have a bad drum bearing. It's seems loud because the clothes drum aplifies the noise. Depending how old it is will determine if repairing is worth the cost. Once you have decided that, replace the drum belt and check all bearings including motor. Clean out all lint which can become a fire hazard.

If the motor is ok the next thing I would check is the felt strip which is on the rear of the drum and is usually glued down. When this gets worn the noise can be really intolerable. You can buy new felt but the drum has to be removed in order to replace it. Not a fun job!

Rinse light flashing on miele novomatic washing machine

Check the motor for worn brushes and or noisy bearings while it is removed for service. Any auto mechanic should have experience replacing brushes and bearings. Much cheaper than ordering a new motor. New brushes and bearings should cost around $30. The shop time should not exceed one hour. Miele charges about $50 for brushes if you can not find a local supplier. The W1930 motor that I rebuilt used a 6202Z and a 6201Z bearing set.

Help with a noisy Fisher & Paykel dryer

I have the same problem. Replacing the front glides (two glides cost under $20 plus labor and service call). The second time it seems to be more than the front glides. Service tech says that it is the blower moving back and forth on the motor shaft. (Because of a worn indentation on the shaft..). Therefore, he says that I must replace the motor and the blower--parts cost approx. $290, plus labor and service call. Ouch! Also says that the plastic front support piece is worn. More money! So, I am looking at a new dryer instead of trying to patch up the one I have (it's out of warranty.)
