Question about Garden

1 Answer

On an outside wall we have a Stanley key pad garage door opener. Stanley no longer makes these door openers. For the first time in ages we had occasion to use it today, only to find that it didn't respond. I have changed the battery - which was dead as a doornail - and the key pad lights up when you input numbers. The problem is that it doesn't respond to the numbers we plug in (and yes they have worked in the past). At the bottom of the key pad, on the left and right sides there are two key pads, marked "Radio Learn" and Access Learn respectively. Can any FixYa guru offer any advice please?

Thanks so much ftw1952. I'll check on these links and let you know whether or not I'm successful in re-programming the key pad.

Again, another speedy and helpful response from a FixYa guru. ftw 1952 provided useful information, and followed up on his response to my question. I am very satisfied.

I guess the key pad is no good no longer if you tried these websites

Hi ftw 1952: Well, I changed the battery in the keypad unit; checked the radio code and (I thought) followed the instructions contained in a couple of the links you gave me. Unfortunately, and probably because I've put "garbage in" and therefore got the proverbial "garbage out" response; but, whatever, I can't get the opener to work - so for now I'm giving it a rest. We've got our garage door expert swinging by the house next week, so I'll find out then whether or not the keypad is kaput. Nevertheless, I am very grateful to you for your input. It was very helpful.

Some remotes have an resistor solder to the circuit board. If dropped the resistor will come loose giving an open circuit which makes the remote non working. Have a look inside of it just in case to see

I'll give it a whirl - but first I'm going to check the codes on the second remote control/panel... Cheers.

Try searching around here to find similar or hopefully exact opener. Stanley no longer is in the garage door business, and the company that bought them out went bankrupt.
Good Luck

How to reset garage door opener pad without old acess number

A Stanley garage door keypad is wall-mounted, battery-operated device that allows you to open your home's garage door electronically without having to manually lift the door or use a pull chain. The keypad uses a four-digit access code that you program after the keypad is initially installed. You can change the code, disable the keypad manually by entering a invalid code and reset the keypad if the device is not working properly. After you reset your Stanley garage door keypad, the device is ready to accept a new access code.

The garage key pad has stopped working

The most common problem for your situation is that the battery in your wallmounted key pad needs to be replaced. unscrew the little screw on the face of the device, remove the battery and replace it with one just like it. Radio shack usually has these batteries

Garage door won't open.

The most common cause of this problem is the door sensors have been bumped and misaligned. They each have a small light that should be lit and not flickering. Tweak them until they are pointed at one another and the lights are lit.
