Problem with Rollei Rolleiflex 6003 35mm SLR Camera

How reliable is the Rolleiflex 6003 SRC 1000 or Pro?

I am impressed with the features per dollar ratio of this camera compared to the Hasselblad, etc., but I have heard that the early 6000 series cameras from Rollei had reliability problems.  Can anyone comment on this?  Are the reliability problems gone?  Are there certain Rollei models to avoid?  Are the waters safe???  Is the Pro better in this regard than the SRC 1000 ?  Any input would be much appreciated.  Thanks. -- Kirk Moon          kirkm @netcom.com

I have a ROllei 6003 SRC, and find it very reliable. The early Rolleis
are a bit iffy, but by the late 6006 (mod II) and the 6003/8, they have
sorted this stuff out. They are very neat cameras, and are a joy to use.

In article ,

We had problems with the original SLX from 1972 and the original version
of the 6006 Mod I.

The later SLX, The later 6006 MOD I, the 6006 MOD II, the 6002, the 6003
SRC 1000, the 6003 Professional, the 6008 professional, the 6008 SRC 1000
and the 6008 integral have been extremely reliable.

the original 6006 MOD I can be upgraded to the Mod II and then it too
would be extremely reliable. It can also be upgraded to a later version of
the MOD I and then it would also be extremely reliable.
