Software windows 98se

It would be helpful if we knew the Make, Model of Laptop. If the Laptop is that old the hardware specs may not support a software upgrade to say Win XP or above. Windows 98se drivers may be a bit difficult to find. The software has been un-supported for many years, soon XP will be on that list. But it's possible with a search of the Make, Model of Computer and the OS.

Need to upgrade from windows 98 to windows xp on ibm 760e thinkpad

Before you begin, be sure to go to Lenova Website and download the appropriate XP software & drivers and burn them to a CD or flash drive. You will need them after the install is completed. After that is completed, you are ready to install. Insert the XP Install disk and choose INSTALL XP and on the next screens drop down menu, choose UPGRADE. Follow the instructions. After it is completed, use the CD or Flash Drive to install the proper system software & drivers.. GREAT LUCK!! Please rate me, k? Thank You Lucky4lynn2

My pc seems to have vireses. it has window xp and can it also be updated with windos 7

Microsoft does not recomend yo to upgrade fron windows XP to Windows 7. Fresh installation of Windows 7 on an XP machine is recommended.

Backup your User file, do a windows 7 readiness, and insert the windows 7 DVD into you systems fro a fresh installation.

However, there are third party application like PCMover software that could help you to upgrade from Windows 7

You will be able to get Windows 7, however it will have to be a clean install. That means you'll have to back up all your docs, pics, videos, and whatever to CDs, DVDs, or a thumbdrive/s before you install Windows 7. Also, any software you have on XP will have to be reinstalled, assuming it is compatible with Windows 7. There are no guarantees. Welcome to the world of Microsoft. See more here.

Upgrading windows xp to vista

You can upgrade from your current edition of Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 to a corresponding or better edition of Windows Vista by purchasing and installing an upgrade copy of Windows Vista.
While selecting the edition of Windows Vista that's right for you, it's important to clearly understand what hardware your PC will need to ensure the features you want will run reliably.
