Aspire AX1200-U1510A starts but monitor doesn't show anything. Monitor works with an odl Dell.

If an old Dell monitor works with your computer then that monitor has something wrong with it.

Try to plug in the monitor to a wall outlet but do not plug it to your computer. If it still doesn't show anything, then you should replace it. You can contact the manufacturer of the monitor. You might have a warranty for it. They might fix it or replace it with a new one.

I hope this helps.

My comp does not show anything on the moniter??

If you have another monitor try it, if it works then you have a bad monitor. If a different monitor doesn't work in it then it could be the motherboard or CPU. If they are bad there is not test for that, the only real way to test them is to buy one piece at a time and see which one works. Also if your monitor has a power adapter check it. Sometimes those do die and not the monitor.

I have a 14 month old HP TX1215NR notebook pc, that will not boot. The power lights come on but there is no hard drive activity. HP say sorry out of warranty. Is there any fix?

Ok heres the next step in trying to troubleshoot your problem.

If you have a desktop PC, We need to BORROW its monitor. There is a VGA port on the back of your Laptop. Plug the Monitor into that and boot up your Laptop. If the "borrowed" monitor shows no signs of activity then try pressing <Fn> and <F5> and seeing if that allows you to view anything on the monitor.

Let me know what you find out and we will take further troubleshooting techniques

Thanks
Dave
