Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I am trying to mirror my laptop (HP Pavillion dv6000) to my TV. I already have the VGA cables hooked up right. I have VISTA. I've gone into the display settings, and there is nothing listed for a "mirror" setting. I've heard about the FN keys, but I don't know which will activate the "mirror mode." Please help. Thank you!

Usually it's hard button [Function and F4] but depends on brand/mfg/etc...it should have a picture of a square within a square and there are normally 3 settings

  1. laptop
  2. laptop & external
  3. external

I have a HP DV4 Pavilion 1287cl laptop and the screen has gone white. When I hook it up to an external monitor it works. Any ideas? A tech friend tested the inverter and said its fine.

I've come across this a few times and almost always with an HP. It was always the video card. I can't help too much more without seeing it. My best advice would be to take it to a repair shop.
hope this helps

Laptop HP Pavillion dv6647nr (a dv6000 family) F11 key Problem

Did you format the drive or just repair it"??

Access BIOS and have a look in case that key stroke is disabled in there.

Sounds like the CD has overwritten that part of the HP registry....they have their own.

You can connect any HDMI or VGA (15 pin) compatible monitor or TV, almost every monitor has VGA connector or VGA adapter at the end of connector and you can use it.

HP Pavillion dv5000 Laptop to a Plasma TV using VGA cable

Easy, your going to have to use the function key its like "FN" or sometimes special key and press one of the F keys (F1,F2,F3) Look for a small TV singal or monitor signal on they key. That will transfer the video output from the lap top and enable your tv.

HP Laptop to TV

You cannot connect VGA OUT to component IN on your TV without using a converter. However, You can connect VGA OUT from your laptop to VGA in on your TV using a VGA cable just as long as your TV has VGA in. You will need to hold the FUNCTION or FN key on your laptop while press the F4 or F10, whichever F key has the picture of the monitor on it. This will switch your laptop from LCD to external display or both.

HP Palilion dv6000 can't connect to a TV

Hi,

The first thing you need to do is after you connect the cables.. hold down the fn key and press f4. this should bring the screen on the tv. make sure your tv is in the AV mode. if not try with a vga cable.

However if it still does not show up then probably the display drivers are corrupted. reinstall the drivers from the recovery manager > advance options > hardware driver installation.

Hope this helps....
Regards,
Anup

Hp pavillion usb ports

They are right, some DVs have this problem. If you can live without the ports, then do it. If you can't, replacement is the only option.
