First thing is to not try powering the laptop on after the water fell on it. Next, you should remove the battery off the laptop immediately. When this is done, you should fully disassemble the laptop & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of water on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, water damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no water seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.
If the water fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you will have to replace the keyboard.

How to fix a laptop keyboard if you spill something on it

Okay, I will now try to explain how to fix a laptop keyboard if you spill something on it (juice, coffe,.....). Problems caused by this are sticky keys, some keys don't work,.....

First of all, don't panic! Turn off your computer immediately, and pull the battery out. Unscrew a couple of screws that are holding the keyboard, and remove carefully keybord out of a laptop. Removing the keyboard can be different, depending on the laptop model. When you remove keyboard, fill a bowl with a fresh water with a few drops of a mild detergent for washing the dishes (3-5 drops per 1 liter of water). Bowl should be bigger than the keyboard, so you can submerge keybord in water. When you submerge the keyboard, gently press all the buttons with your palm, doing this you allow water to enter inside and clean the keyboard from inside. After pressing buttons for about 10 minutes, change the water for a fresh one, this time clean water, without the detergent. Do this with just clean water 2-3 times, and when you finish, shower the keyboard, just to make sure it is washed properly and the detergent is gone. DON'T USE THE HAIR DRYER TO DRY THE KEYBOARD, AND DON'T PUT IT ON DIRECT SUN. Turn the keyboard upside down and put it on a towel and let it dry. It should be dry in about 6-8 days on a room temperature, so be patient. DON'T EVER wash the keyboard with alcohol or something like that.

This is very good way to fix the keyboard, i solved a great number of keyboards using this method.

Keyboard dont type

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. How to fix water damaged keyboard

Soak up spills immediately after they occur. This not only reduces the risk of damage, it prevents much of the fluid from spreading beneath the keys. Use a towel, cloth or anything else you have handy at the moment. Unplug the keyboard from the computer or disconnect the power supply if you are using a laptop keyboard. Make certain nothing else is connected to the keyboard and unplug any USB devices. Pop the keys off your keyboard using a dull knife or flathead screwdriver. Do this slowly and carefully to avoid damaging the keys or the keyboard. Place the keys in a bowl full of warm soapy water, and let them soak for 20 to 30 minutes. Dish detergent is effective at removing dirt, oil and stickiness. Use a damp, lint-free cloth to wipe the large areas of the keyboard. A cotton swab can be used in smaller spaces and around the edge of the keyboard. Set the keyboard aside, upside down, on a towel and leave it to dry for several hours. This will also allow any trapped fluid inside the keyboard to drain out. Wash off any remaining dirt, oil or debris from the keys. Use a cotton swab to clean inside of each key, if necessary. Rinse the keys very well with warm water and set them on a towel to dry. Replace the keys once the keyboard and keys are fully dry. If your keyboard is still sticky, fluid likely leaked deep inside the keyboard. You can attempt to clean the internal part of the keyboard by yourself, but this will void the warranty and risk further damage. Either purchase a new keyboard or send yours to the manufacturer for repair.

Assalam o alaikum. my cell drop into water tommorrow next day working right.but now many of buttons are not working??? what i can do for this? Thanks

Number 1 rule if your phone gets wet... DO NOT turn it on.
Remove the battery from the phone. get a small ziploc freezer bag place phone in bag pour uncooked grains of rice into bag. Enough to cover phone completely. Close bag. Let it sit for at least 2 days.
This is to absorb all the moisture from the phone. Remove phone, insert battery and try using it. It may work. But you need to wait until your phone is completely dry before attempting to use it.

I spilled some water on my royal cash register, and it was beeping and giving me a error sign. I unplugged it and turned it upside down to try and get the water out. Can I fix it without buying a new one....

You should immediately try to dry the membrane inside the keyboard. You normally need to unscrew many screws in the back of the keyboard to get at it. it will be plastic sheets with little black tracks on them. Dry them gently with LOW heat or wipe until dry. also look for any water on the main circuit board and dry with gentle fan for few hours

I spilled water on my keyboard last night. Immediately i turned my asus u81a laptop upside down to keep water from seeping under the keys and turned it off. I then removed the battery and let it dry upside...

bad news... you can try and dry it some more in warm and dry condition more another day or two... open up whatever compartment you can and see if there's any moisture... Gently blow dry (not to close) and try again. with todays laptop price, it may not be worth to repair.. probably your hard drive is safe though. worst case: salvage the hard drive and transfer the data - you can event turn it into a portable drive.

Moisture in keyboard of Dell Inspiron 1520

Use alchohol to clean the key board so that it will absorb the excess moisture. If this is constantly happening that your key board becomes moist, icky wet ...usually means ur cooling fan is not working properly...could mean getting a new one.....suggest cleaning the fan to get out the dust and grime that builds up with the heat and dust.

My kids spilled juice on my laptop and i need figure out how to

With my keyboard, I use a damp cloth with glass cleaner on it and wipe it off that way nice and gently, be sure your laptop is off when you do this, does a good job and makes it look like new again. Hopefully the kids didn't damage the keyboard.
