This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

What can I create that will keep chapters in order on a place for a book-length story. I have them on a Flash drive and they are all muddled up. I want to send the to a publisher Anne

rename the file names . Put 11 12 13 15 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 in front of each file name so as to have operating system sort them into chapter order.
File Sorting does not like 1 ,2,3 it will not sort in order when you get to 11 as 11 will be lower than 1 in the file sorting for some reason.
eg 11_your first chapter.doc
12_your second chapter.doc
13_your third chapter.doc

Roman numerals

Book indexing systems likely require such capabilities. That subject is in the realm of Nancy C. Mulvany (writer of 2005's Indexing Books); but good luck on getting a reply from such lofty heights.

Here is a page referring to how to sort Roman Numerals in Word tables: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3526/t/17598900

Here is some code for sorting Roman numerals: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6507536/how-to-sort-an-array-of-roman-numerals

Similarly, here is a discussion of use of vlookup: http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/sorting-data-using-roman-numerals-t2104212.html and also in the following Excel forum:

http://www.excelforum.com/excel-general/397231-sorting-data-using-roman-numerals.html

I doubt you want to use this online alphabetizer which can handle Roman numerals: http://alphabetizer.flap.tv/

Maybe I have misunderstood the question and you are wondering about something else besides sorting. But here is a link regarding some sql server sorting: http://sql.software.informer.com/download-sql-server-sort-roman-numerals/

Can you help

Sounds like a fueling problem. Almost certainly nothing you can do yourself - take it to a mechanic, preferably someone known for sorting out fuel injection issues.

Sorting... sorting...

If the player allows you to add music on it via USB as a Removable Disk, then copy all the music off the player onto your computer and then format the MP3 player by right clicking it in "My Computer" and going to "Format...". Start it up without music and see how it goes, if it doesn't turn itself off, fill it with a little bit of music, then a little more until you either put your music back on, or until it screws up again. Good luck!
