Question about Pioneer SX-315

2 Answers

Phone.in mode I have a model SX-315 receiver and on the display is reading"PHONE.IN". In the middleof a movie it changed to this and we can not hear sound. This is connected to our tv, DVD, stereo. Although if I plug in the headphones we can hear throught th headphones. I misplaced my manual and we bought this almost 2 yrs ago. Is there a way to fix this issue? I read to hold AV/parameter button down and power then enter but where's AV button? in front?

I had this exact same problem. What I did was take the cover off. From the inside of the phone jack, there was a brown plastic cable tip and a white plastic cable tip and I unplugged both of those. I turned the power on after unhooking them then pressed a few buttons on the front to make sure it no longer said "PHONES.IN". Then, powered off, I plugged them back in, powered on, and it works just like it did before. Hope this helps!

What you have to do to is reset the whole system. in order to to that you have to press system setup while the receiver is off.then you press the symbole next to enter and then press enter.

It's telling you it thinks the headphones are in. Remove them or troubleshoot why it thinks they're in.

The sound goes on and off

If this is only on ONE SOURCE doing this, it's trying to tell you the quality of the digital bitstream is marginal, meaning the connection is flaky.

The sequence of events is probably more like (cause) the digital signal degrades sufficiently to overcome correction; (effect) the PCM light drops out and sound is no longer decoded. Silence.

Consider the source, the media (as applicable) and its cable as suspects.

Pioneer receiver sx-315

With persistence, I was able to program the Universal Remote Control provided with the cable box to control my new used Pioneer SX-315 receiver. I now can control the tv volume, cable box, auxiliary stereo receiver with speaker system with one remote. Thank goodness I did not have to resort to buying a Pioneer remote control.

I was able to program another previously unused universal remote which I purchased several years ago. However, since the other remote control did not list the Vizio TV. That brand is too new for the remote.

No sound

I just fixed mine. Plug in your head phone. wait couple of seconds. you will hear clicking noise which seems to reset the receiver. 10seconds later, sounds should come on and if not unplug the head phone and you should hear it then.

if you are hearing noises from inside the amp, then something is burning up. Your sense of smell may be a guide here too. I suggest taking the amp to a tech to repair it unless you have had some experience with repairing amps
