Download the Software for Vista from the link provided by tech_curly, and then do a clean boot/install. Removing the camera software and reinstalling it using a clean boot may resolve the symptoms you are experiencing. The following instructions will walk you through this process.

  1. Remove the camera software.
a. Unplug the camera from the computer. Later you will be prompted by the software to plug in the camera; do so at that time only.
b. Open the Windows Control Panel.
c. Open the Add / Remove Programs window.
d. Locate the listing for the camera software and remove it. When prompted to remove the camera drivers files, click Yes.
e. Locate any other camera software and remove it as well. (Other camera software may interfere with the QuickCam software.)
To Boot Clean in Windows Vista
Accessing the System Configuration Utility
1. Click Start and select Control Panel
2. Click System and Mantience
3. Click Administrative Tools
4. Double Click System Configuration

Configure Selective Startup options
1. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
2. Uncheck Load Startup Items
3. Select the Services tab
4. Check Hide all Microsoft services
5. Click Disable all
6. Click on OK
7. Click Restart.

Install the downloaded camera driver/software. After performing the necessary steps, restore your system by doing the following:
1. Click Start and select Control Panel
2. Click System and Mantience
3. Click Administrative Tools
4. Double click System Configuration
5. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
6. Click Ok
7. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer

Hope that helps!

Making camera work with Yahoo Instant Messenger

Windows Media Encoder enables the ability for you to "LIVE" broadcast using your webcam utilising Windows Media Encoder 9 and your participant viewers watching you using Windows Media Player at the recieving end. So in other words, you are effectively setting up "your own" live streaming broadcasts either video, audio(such as internet radio) or both from your PC without using the likes of Skype, Yahoo, IM etc.

Logitech quick cam pro 9000

Hello!

Logitech does not support Quick Cam Pro 9000 on MAC OS. The only two supported operating systems are Windows XP and Windows Vista.

You might go with a bit more expensive Quick Cam Vision Pro that is supported on Mac.

MAKE SURE CAM IS NOT PLUGGED IN!!

Go to www.logitech.com

Click on "support" at the top

Click on "downloads + parts"

Choose "webcams" from the "product type" dropdown box.

Choose "Quickcam PRO 4000" from the "product name" dropdown box.

Click the blue arrow

Click "get software"

Choose your Operating System

Download / install it

NOTE: Do NOT for ANY reason plug the cam in before it asks you to do so!

You should be good from here! Good luck!

Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 using Vista

Assuming you installed the Vista driver and not the generic driver in windows, you would also have to set up the sound in the individual IM programmes. If you have installed the driver but accidently let the pc use a generic one, uninstall the camera software and download this driver and install, ensuring that wherever you download it to is where windows looks for the correct driver. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1794,contentid=11022 If you still have no luck, try using the xp driver that will probably be on the cd rom you got with the cam. Lastly, not all camera makes perform correctly on all makes of pc, it's hit and mis so if the cam does not work under any circumstances, return to the retailer and exchange for a different make.
