Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2400 Laser Printer

1 Answer

I am having problems with my printer feeding the paper. I have tried to unplug from the power source, turn off the machine and have tried buying different higher-grade paper. If I unplug and then plub back in, it will work for a few times and then it is back to not feeding in the paper

I have the same printer. My solution is never fill the paper tray completely full only about 3/4ths full and never let it get below about a quarter from empty either (I put in a bunch of already printed on pages for the bottom 1/4th of the stack and when those start to print I know its time to add more paper. You can have the tractor feeder replaced (that is the part that sucks up the sheets of paper from the stack) and that will fix your problem but the quote that I was given on mine to fix it was more that the printer was worth.

Paper will not feed crumbles on right side will not feed through

Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Grab a flashlight ang take a look into the feeder for any debris or foreign objects that could cause this problem. If none, unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, load some paper (don't overload). Try to print again. If problem continues, please don't hesitate to contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

Printer keeps saying alignment, load paper and press tick will not print anything off ?

It could be the cartridges are not seated properly in carrier. Try to remove any paper from the paper feed tray. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Then unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges. Try to print again.

Mfc-7420 says paper jammed/ and no feeding paper -all faulse messages-no paper there jammed

This is a huge problem, not only with the MFC-7420 printer, but literally every printer known to exist! The best way to solve this problem is to look at where the printer is connected. If it's connected to your computer, it may be trying to print something from there still, causing the information that the printer is receiving to become jumbled up and confused. I'm going to go step by step to try to help you out of your printer misery:

First: Unplug the printer from your computer entirely. Then unplug your printer's power source.
Second: Re-plug back in your printer's power source, and wait for it to turn on fully.
Third: Double check to make sure everything is working fine aside from the non-existent "paper jam."
Fourth: Re-plug back in the printer to the computer, and cancel all scheduled prints that are queued on your computer.
Lastly: Retry printing!

Hope this helps.

Paper is loading crooked and causing a jam

Sounds like there is something that has fallen into the paper feed path. Shutdown printer, unplug power from back of printer, and remove paper. With a flashlight, inspect the area around the paper feed roller for any debris (one time I found a penny lodged on the left side of the roller) that might have fell inside path and for damage to rubber wheels. Ink can build up on rubber wheels causing the paper to misalign. This can be cleaned off with q-tips and 91% Isopropal Alcohol or Dilute. If debris is found and cleaned then reload paper into feed path, make sure paper guide tab is in position against paper source. Plug printer power back in, turn on printer and push the paper feed button. If that doesn't fix problem the only other solution is the replace the paper feed roller or buy another printer. Let me know if this fixes the problem or if you find another issue. Have a Nice Day!

Paper jam but there is no paper

If the paper jam message wont clear, there is something blocking the sensor in the paper path leading the machine to think there is paper. Check the paper path for torn paper. Locate the paper switch/sensor and make sure it is clean and unobstructed.
If the jam message clears but when you go to print it comes back, you may have dirty feed rollers. Clean the rollers with a mild detergent or soapy water and a clean cloth. Do not use alcohol, this will dry out the rollers and shorten their life.

Paper feed not working properly

1. first check to see if there is any bits and pieces of paper in any place in the paper carriage -- look very carefully in front access and rear access
2. if this is not the problem, then disconnect printer from computer -- turn off printer, unplug power cord, unplug printer cable from printer
3. gain access to paper roller assembly, usually in rear
4. using lint free cloth, dampened with distilled water clean rollers -- read manual to determine direction of rotation (usually clockwise)
5. keep rotating rollers until all is wiped clean of paper dust
6. reassumble and try a test print as your printer manual directs

Paper keeps feeding through and won't stop

Two possibilities;
One you have a messed up print job trying to print and when you turn the printer on the job just starts over.
Two the clutch that stops the pick roller is bad and the roller just keeps turning.
Unplug the machine from the computer and turn it off unplug power for awhile turn it back on not connected to the computer. If condition remains it is the clutch.
If condition goes away delete print jobs and re connect printer.
Hope this helps

Won't take paper

Clean The Paper Feed Rollers Using The Unit's Operation Panel If the paper feed roller is dirty, paper is not fed properly because the paper feed roller slips. Cleaning the paper feed roller could resolve the paper feeding problem. Please follow the instructions below to clean the Paper Feed Rollers directly from the unit. Caution: Since the cleaning process wears down the paper feed roller, perform this procedure only when necessary and no more than three (3) times.
  1. Ensure that the machine is powered on and remove any paper from the auto sheet feeder or the cassette.

  2. Use the <Feed Switch> button to select the paper source where you do the paper feed roller cleaning. Click for additional information.

  3. Press the <Menu> button.

  4. Use the right / left cursor button to select [Maintenance/settings] press the <OK> button.

Note: This procedure is skipped if your machine is in Scan mode. Proceed to step 5.

  5. Use the right / left cursor button to select [Maintenance] and the press the <OK> button.

  6. Use the up / down cursor button to select [Roller cleaning] and press the <OK> button.

  7. Use the up / down cursor button to select [Yes], then press the <OK> button. (The paper feed roller cleaning starts.)

  8. To check if the rollers are clean, load a sheet of Letter-sized plain paper in the same paper source you selected in step 2, and press the <Open> button.

  9. Use the up / down cursor button to select [Roller cleaning] and press the <OK> button.

  10. Use the up / down cursor button to select [Yes], then press the <OK> button. (Paper will be fed.)

Note: If paper is not fed properly, repeat steps 4 through 10 above up to three times.

Paper Source
Press the <Feed Switch> button to switch to toggle between the Automatic Sheet Feed (ASF) or Cassette. The light will come on when the <Feed Switch> is set for that paper source.

Note: When printing from the computer, if paper does not feed from the source you have selected on the operation panel, check Paper Source setting in the printer driver. If the option is not set to 'Paper Feed Switch', paper will feed from the source selected in the driver.
