The size where the nipple that ya connect to that sticks out the back of dryer is 1/2inch..now your gas pipe in the house could be 1/2" or 3/4" so in that case if it is 3/4 you would need 1/2" connecter at the dryer and a 3/4" by 1/2" reducer to connect at your house gas pipe
while i am all about the can do spirit... certain things that if done impoperly can blow up your house should be done by professionals that will do it correctly
I would take a look at the door switch, its a push button on the top of the door opening. The spring might have went, causing the switch to stay closed, hence it staying running
first, check and see if the ignitor glows,if not it probably is burned out, then if it glows, but wont start check the flame sensor eye for dirt so it cant sense the flame,if this isnt the problem, then check the gas valve coils on the gas valve, they get weak and cant keep the valve open to supply gas to the dryer
Your model number indicates a gas dryer. It does not have a heating element. It has a glowbar igniter,a flame sensor and a gas valve. Either the glowbar igniter is bad or the flame sensor or the gas valve coils or the thermal fuse.
Could be 2 things... either your heat source is out of repair or your vent is blocked. Since you say it only gets warm I'll assume the problem is with the gas coils inside the unit. These parts are replaceable
clean your dryer vent going from the back of the dryer to outside also run a lint brush down where you put the lint screen in if this does not help replace your coils
