The brightness can be increased from the monitor's settings ..and from the computer's video card ..
for the monitor settings ..press the menu button on the monitor (the reqtangular symbol)..and the menu will appear..after that using the arrows for navigation ..and the menu button for ok ..you can choose what to change increase /decrease ..and save at the end..
To get to the brightness from the video card ..right click on the desktop ..than properties..and than settings (the last one at the right ..Here click advanced..and choose the sg gamma ..for on board vga ..card ..or the card by the name if it is a pci one ..for example ..nVidia settings..or ..ATI ..atc..
it will open the video settings ..and one by one you will be able to set them like you like ..
