Riccar 9900 - Stuck in reverse feeding direction

I have oiled the whole machine and finally got the reverse button to return to its original position when depressed by profusely oiling the button and areas around. The feeding and stitching is still stuck goin in a reverse direction no matter what design I choose. Can you tell me what to do?

The reverse button is stuck on reverse. How do I fix it to go forward?

Hello Leah, I think you need your machine cleaned and oiled. Over time, the old oil will dry out and even get sticky. This can cause the feed dogs to stay in the reverse position.

My machien is pulling the fabric forward instead back

check the position of the feed foot lever / button/knob
if it is in the correct feed direction the have it serviced as it may not be connected properly inside the machine.

My riccar 707 is stuck in reverse. stitching, what is the. problem.?

Most machines have a button that is on the front of the machine. It is located on the front with machine with the stitch selections. The button is pushed in. Push the center button again and if that doesn't work, push the outer edge of the button and it will release.

My feed dogs are going backwards

They are suppose to feed from the front to the back - that is the direction you are to sew.

If they are going forward, the machine is in reverse/back-up.

The reverse/back-up button/lever is in the reverse position or stuck, depending on how your brand/model of sewing machine is designed

On all sewing machines there is a button or lever which makes the machine go backward. The button could be stuck, if so put a drop of oil on it and try to release it. If there is a lever that has been raised which puts the machine in reverse, simply lower it to the lowest position. This should solve the problem.

Stuck in reverse

The reverse button is attached to link that moves a lever to make the machine sew in reverse. The lever is spring loaded so it returns to forward sewing when the button is released. Either the spring has come off or there is a bind in the lever(oil it). In order to solve the problem, the covers must be removed.
