Question about Microwave Ovens

2 Answers

We live in Brazil. We have a Kenmore KTR2300 Breadmaker. My husband has numerous allergies and we cannot find any bread here that he can eat. I make whole wheat bread for him. Recently, the bread has not been rising well for some reason. It tastes fine, but is about half the height and very heavy. It is often bumpy, rather than rounded on the top. It does not seem to form itself into a ball for the kneading cycle as it used to do. This past week, we ended up losing the paddle, so, I don't know whether to spend the money for a new paddle if it is going to be next thing to impossible to fix the machine. Additional problems are appliances like that are ridiculously expensive here. The machine takes up half a suitcase, so I cannot easily ask a friend to bring one down. However, I would rather not go back to hand kneading bread for my husband since I have osteo-arthritis in my thumbs.

    Hi!
I'm sorry I cannot accept to pay for this advice, as it is not very helpful.
Is it the paddle that is no longer available? or the part I would need to fix the machine? Which is?????? or both?
I pushed the button for Kitchen Appliances and it came up for you - who I realized afterwards are technically for microwaves.

PLEASE, REDIRECT THIS PROBLEM THREAD TO "HEATMAN 101"
I had pushed the "Kitchen Appliances" button and it gave me an expert in Microwaves. My concern is about a Breadmaker - NOT a microwave.
Perhaps, someone who is more aquainted with Kenmore Breadmakers might have more to say that may be helpful. I realize my problem is an unusually awkward one. However, here in Brazil, many simple, easy problems become more difficult because of the distance.
If I knew which part might be responsible for the problem of the heavy bread, I might be able to order it and find a repairman here to install it who works with imported appliances.
Replacing the paddle, hopefully, is a less major issue.
Oh yes, another problem. An electrical problem blew out the "STOP" button. I don't know how easy or expensive that one is. It is not a big problem as the machine was running just fine without it. I just was unable to stop the cycle once it had begun. Once I had pressed "START", the breadmaking was on its way without being able to stop it.
    ----
THE HEAVY BREAD PROBLEM IS THE MAIN PROBLEM HOWEVER!!

Hello Yvonne. I have some suggestions. First, check with a couple of the small bakery shops and see if they will make you some wholewheat bread with out any additives.
You may find that they are doing this already. Second, when the bread does not rise properly, the problem is often that the yeast is bad, old, tired.

Regarding the paddle, Go to e bay. They have a couple of stores that sell nothing but parts for bread machines. J.

I have followed instrucions to the letter but my breadmaker is still not baking bread

If your breadmake is not working at all, try a different outlet. If that does not work, replace the unit. If the breadmake is mixing but not baking, you most likely need to replace the filament.
