Just so you know, your camera model was included in the list for what we call the "ccd program". this program has ran for 5 years and unfortunately ended march this year. sony gave free repairs for cameras and camcorders affected by the defective ccd imaging sensor before the said date. issue with the camera shows a black or distorted screen in camera mode. but the you should still be able to see the indicators on the screen. when switch to vcr you should be able to play back previous recordings that you made. better to really make sure its a ccd issue, play a tape that you're sure contains a movie recording and play it, then set it to camera mode and see if you get just a black screen. if you try recording using a tape, you may see nothing but should hear the audio part. if this is what's happening we can be sure it's a ccd issue. if your camcorder just won't turn on in camera mode, maybe the power switch turned defective or it can be other parts of the unit that stopped working.if this is the case, then of course, your unit may require service to address the problem.hope this info helps.thanks:)

    thank you for the help but I try it and when I change the camera mode its in the same reaction that if I put in OFF mode, instead the light that is supposed to bright it is not, i think I have to take it for service, its kind of wierd because the tapes already done are performed

Trick to show your name in taskbar

Here is a trick to add your name in place of AM and PM beside time in the taskbar.
It's simple
Goto Start -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language option -> Customize (beside English US) -> Go to TIME tab -> Change AM symbol and PM symbol from AM and PM to your name -> Apply -> Ok ...IS it changed ??? May be not ...
Now go to time in taskbar and Double Click it to open "Date and time property" ...
Look at the place where time changes in digital format i.e. 02:47:52 AM , click to arrow to chage the AM or PM by selecting and press arrow.
Apply -> OK.
It will Show your name!!

SONY keeps switching to EP at beginning of playing SP tapes

You may have dirty heads in the vcr---most 4 head machines use two for sp and the other two for lp and or ep.

Tape residue will usually be seen on the drum where the heads are when this happens--also look for the black residue on the tape guides that hold the tape in position against the drum-------

My VCR won't play my movies! The tapes are fine its just when I put the tape in it just shows a scraggly screen. Everything is plugged in but my movies won't play. What do I do?

If the vcr is running the tape, your video head is probably dirty, try using a cleaning tape if you have one. The second option is use a brand new blank tape T120 and set the the machine to sp speed (2hr running time) and let the tape run the full course. The third option is to remove the lid of the vcr and carefully clean the video head with a swab dipped in rubbing alcohol rotating the head by hand as you proceed allowing several minutes to dry before loading your tape.

Change VCR settings from SP to LP or EP

Hi;
I have a Panasonic VCR with a different, but I know how to 'fix' your problem on my m/c. The remote for my m/c has a "REC MODE" button; operating that button changes from SP to EP etc. Check it with the "Program" button on your TV screen.

I have a problem with my Olympus SP- 510 UZ digital camera: Although it perfectly displays pictures taken recently, the screen remains all black when I intend to take pictures. It does take pictures...

Sounds like a repair issue with the image processing chip in the camera. You may want to call Olympus Customer Service to discuss repair options and pricing. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3

Player shows ejects symbol and shuts off after about 45 seconds

the timing will be out of line, thats whats putting in shut-down mode. dis-engage the tape carriage from the running cogs and manually put it in eject mode, re-align the main cogs to their pointers. there should be one on the cogs and on the chassis to help you re-align then re-engage the carriage to its cog.

Olympus sp 350

There is a "quick" button located on the back of the camera just for flashes. It is the first button to the right of the power button and it looks like a crooked lightning bolt arrow that points down. If you are in any picture taking mode, push this button and it will toggle you through each flash option, auto, red eye (eyeball symbol), flash (same symbol as the button, this mode will make the flash work everytime you take a picture), red eye and flash, and no flash (careful, in this mode you have to allow for the camera to focus, the lens will stay open a long time in a dark atmosphere -- if you don't hold the camera still you will get a blurry picture).
