Usb streaming is not supported by your new windows OS,reason usb driver is not available. for ilink or ieee1394 connection it should be a plug-and-play connection. no setting in the camera enables or disables ilink output and an ilink driver for the camera is not needed to support this connection (not unless you need to update or reinstall your ieee1394 device driver to get it to work). check this solution link: http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.docmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=C86798&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_KNOWLEDGEARTICLES_1_1&dialogID=157560925&stateId=1200%20157576924
hope you can get to establish connection.thanks:)

Hi there cannot connect i link to my pc no connection on my pc any advice would help

Usually what you would do is buy a IEEE-1394 interface card and install it in your PC in an available slot on the motherboard. You can buy these for less than $20 and with a little tech knowledge about PCs many people can install the card themselves. The IEEE-1394 is called i.Link by Sony. If you are running Windows XP, or Vista, the drivers are already installed. Reboot PC and the new card should be recognized. Use the 4-pin to 4-pin firewire cable to connect camcorder to PC. You will need software to capture your video which should have been supplied by Sony with your camera. For Windows 7, you need to install LIVE Photo Gallery. Your camcorder was setup to work with Windows XP so an alternative may be to just find a friend with an older PC with a firewire card already installed running Windows XP. I just did this very same thing on my PC and it worked. Got the firewire card from Amazon.com for $3.95 VIA brand from Taiwan. I used Windows Movie Maker to capture video. Sony also sells a stand-alone DVD recorder which connects to a camcorder and requires no computer to create DVDs of your video.

CAN'T RECOGNIZE MY SONY DCR TRV720 HANDYCAM CAMCORDER ON WINDOWS XP 5.1 SVC PACK 2 BUILD (2600) TOSHIBA SATELITTE 5005-S504 LAPTOP. IEEE ILINK CABLE 1394. NEW CABLE 4PIN TO 4 PIN. SONY SITE SAYS, DONT...

There is a Sony tutorial page for downloading video to computer at THIS LINK

You will need to select Windows as the operating system, then your camera type, then select the type of connection. You are strongly recommended to use i.Link (which everyone else calls Firewire).

There is Sony software called Picture Motion Browser that you can download (you will need the number from your original CD).

If none of that helps, perhaps the driver for the Firewire (IEEE 1394) port on the computer needs to be reinstalled. You can view this driver (if it is installed) by opening the control panel\system\hardware\device manager and looking for IEEE 1394. It should say if there is a problem or if it is working. You can force it to reinstall at this point.

Hi, I am having Sony DCR TRV22E Camcorder, and installing the driver given with it on Windows 7, but the driver given in the CD is not allowed to install on Windows 7 OS, what is the solution for this ?...

You don't need to install a driver. You should be able to connect the camcorder, using a Firewire/1394 cable, and Windows 7 should recognize it. All versions of Windows since Windows 98 can recognize DV video camcorders. I have a very similar (although USA version) Sony camcorder and I have connected it to over a dozen different Windows computers without ever installing a driver.

Now, while you don't need a driver, you DO need a capture program (an application) to actually do the video capture. Most versions of Windows include

Windows Movie Maker

and this can be used to do the capture. I also highly recommend the shareware program called:

Scenalyzer

which you can download and try for free.

I cant conect in pc my web cam sony dcr hc21e handycam i have windows 7

Right, well your problem is very common, it is due to Windows 7 (I have it) not having very many drivers built-into it for cameras, and my own Sony camera driver is not in 7 either ok. So you are going to have to download your films from camera to PC with a cable called Firewire because USB cable wont work without windows drivers, firewire will.
Lets just hope your PC if it is not old has a Firewire socket at rear, as older PC wont have one.

I have sony trv33 and windows 7 using firewire 1394 port and cable computer does not recognise camcorder when turned on

Hi,
Your camera will not be recognized when you connect it via firewire. To transfer the video from your camera to your computer you will need a video editing program that is able to capture video from camcorders connected via firewire.
You can try Windows Movie Maker for Windows 7. Alternatively your can search through the internet to find a more advanced video editing software.

Need a 1394 firewire port and suitable software like Corel Videostudio. Then no problems. When no 1394 port thoes pci cards come cheap, $15 or so. Video studio retails about $100 I think, you can download a free limited 30 day trial from Corel. Please uninstaal that demo after 30 days with the same install programm otherwise deep ****.
