Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

During the cycle the cold water will not shut off. Once it kicks on at the first it won't kick off. I have to manually turn off the cold water. Once I turn it off at the valve and turn it back on it will stay off until the rinse cycle, then the same thing again it won't shut off? Any ideas

It sounds like you have a faulty inlet valve. Not an uncommon situation with F&P. Make sure the new valve is for the appropriate temperature, because F&P says they're different.
Not a big job.
Access the valves via the 2 screws at the rear of the facia. Unscrew the retaining plate via the 2 screws between the inlet valves at the rear of the machine.
I usually cut the top off the valve slot so that the valve can be lifted straight up. When the plastic retaining plate is replaced the valves are secure again.
Don't forget to swap over the seal from the old inlet valve.
Good luck....Nomess

Wont fill with water

Other than the possibility that a shut off valve on the water line feeding the dishwasher was turned off for any reason, I had a similar problem on a different model and it turned out to be an electric valve that is under the dishwasher front kick panel that needed to be replaced. If it doesn't open no water can flow into the dishwasher during the fill cycle, 4c3igb

Tip

Dishwasher Water Temperatures

No matter what detergent you use, the "pills", powder, or gels, they are meant to activate PROPERLY, key word PROPERLY, at a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit in a dishwasher. I recommend ALWAYS using the "high temp wash, boost, etc" on ANY cycle in order to keep the water HOT! Always run the hot water in the sink prior to starting the dishwasher! The unit is tied in to the hot water line under the kitchen sink and requires very little water to fill--by the time the hot water finally reaches the dishwasher, chances are it'll be running on cold or tepid water--the detergent won't dissolve or activate the way it's supposed to. Not only that, in between fills during the cycle, especially in winter, the water will cool down in the pipes too much. Normally, the water heating selection will maintain water temps in the 130-150 degree range! If someone has been sick in the house, turn on the SANI RINSE if your unit has it! This won't stop--but it'll help prevent cross contamination--people getting sick from the dishes--this setting normally kicks the water temp up to 190 degrees during the rinse cycle.

2004 ford expolorer air conditioning will not stay on

I would suspect the AC compressor cycling switch (located in low pressure line from compressor) or a AC cutoff wide open throttle relay ( in under hood fuse and relay center) would be causing this problem.

After wash cycle, tube will not drain water?

Probably a blocked empty pump filter. Spin won't kick in until all the water is evacuated. If there is a little left, the machine will do the slow turn cycle that it does just before spin starts but not start the spin cycle because of the water in the drum.

You need to locate the filter and clean it. That should fix your problem. Once this is done, remember to keep the filter clean every few months.

I have a Powerstar Electric tankless water heater, 45-551301, installed in a new home less than 3 years ago. We have always had minor problems with the hot water staying hot, fluctuations in hot and tepid...

Tankless heater are a little frustrating sometimes but this is generally an issue of waterflow I believe. The fluctuations are do probably to the amount of water and rate of water going through the heater. If you have a shut off valve on the cold side of the heater, shut it back about half way. This will slow the water going through the heater and allow the heater to heat it up more efficiently. Then go to the shower, turn the hot on all the way (no cold) and allow it to heat up. Once it has heated up, test it by hand for a good temperature that you like. If it is too hot, turn the cold on just a bit until it comes to the temp you like. If it is too cold turn the hot down just a little (still no cold) and it will warm up. Ideally you should be able to turn the hot on full blast and then just turn on a little cold to get the right temp. Once you learn how these work then it makes it easier. You really cant run the water like you do with conventional hot water systems and expect to get the same results. Also, wanted to give you another little tip. Every 6 mos to a year, you should flush you heater with vinegar for about 30-45 minutes using a small cheap submerible pump like for a water feature in a garde. Just put in a bucket of vinegar and and run a hose to the "in" side of the heater and another from the "out' side of the heater and then back into the bucket. This will circulate the vinegar inside the heater and clean all the deposits that will DOA your heater. Funny how the manufacturer wont tell you this but these deposits will ruin the connectiosn on the heating elements. You can make your heater last for a long time if you do this.

Kick stand safety shut down, once bike warms up it shuts off if kick stand is down

The bike is supposed to shut down if the kick stand is down. It is a safety feature designed to prevent starting out with the stand down, which can be very inconvenient on your first left turn. If you are saying the bike runs with the stand down when cold, then the switch must be in need of adjustment. Please rate my answer.

Water is not entering machine when turned on

Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

Cold water continues to run during entire wash cycle

Adrea, sounds like you need a new valve. When it's doing this leaking, unplug the washer. If it's still leaking you know for sure it's the valve. Part number for the model posted is 22002360. Catriver..post back.
