Battery charge goes off

Even if my ipaq is off its battery continues going low and low as if it was working. It started after i plug it in into an amplifier but the amp was too old that I could not connect the ground, but the sound was good i dont know why since then the speaker does not work just the head phones and when I turn it off the battery goes lower and lower and is very hot. Please if you know something about it tell me what to do. I really apreciate it very much.

Something got shorted or broken inside. It's a electronic failure. Your ipaq needs a new PCB board or get replaced.

Charging indicator stays red the USB cable plugged in to a powered PC? Could be cable or battery issue. Red light means that the battery is very low on juice. Return it to where you got it from if you can't solve it on your own.

Lying ipaq H5550!

It's a problem with either the memory board or the button board. With my h5550, the bottom buttons started to stop working and eventualy the PPC stoped charging all together. You can find parts for it online. If all the buttons are working fine, then it's most likely the motherboard. Otherwise it should be the button board.

I got the same problem. I even tried to plug the battery to the second battery charging slot, still couldn't get it back to life. But the Ipaq screen lights on with progress bar progress for about 5 seconds, then dead again. I even doubted the battery was toasted.
I gave it a final shot:
1. Remove the battery, and then put it back.
2. While the screen lights on, within 2 seconds, cold reset the unit by press the hole with stylus and push the power button at top in the same time.
In my case, the progress bar will keep going until I see the tap screen instruction and everything back to normal. But it reminds me that the removable battery is totally discharged. So I put it in cradle and I am able to synch it with my PC. Everything seems o.k. while it sits in the cradle, except the charging light won't turn red.
When I remove it from the cradle, it still lights on, battery shows 99% which is healthy. but when I turned it off, it won't start anymore. I have to repeat the above steps to revive it. Sometimes I have to remove the battery and wait for a while and then put it back, so that the screen can light on to give me chance to cold reset.
Conclusion: Maybe need a new battery. I will check Ebay to get one.
Please post if you have other solutions.

HP Ipaq 4155 not recognizing battery

Try taking out battery and plug in power. If it works, battery is faulty. If not,
Try taking out your hard disk plug in power, if it works, hard disk is faulty. If not,
Try taking out memory card, if there's a sound, memory card faulty. If no sound, it's your motherboard that is causing the error.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
