Sennheiser ew135 mutes at random moments during a show and it also displays MUTE on the LCD screen. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds like wireless signal problems...the receiver will mute when it loese signal from the transmitter (mic).
1. Raise the receiver up higher in the performance area.
2. Stay within the recommended range/distance stated in the owners manual.
3. Read "If a problem occurs" section of owners manual...page 31 "MUTE appears on display panel." For some reason I can't link the owners manual here, but sweetwater music has it at the bottom of the Sennheiser ew135 sales page.

Ricketfish srs wow - mic is not working

  • Press the PWR button on the wireless receiver to turn the unit on. The headset has a sleep/standby mode feature to preserve battery life. The unit goes into sleep mode if there's no input for 3 minutes.
  • Twist the tip of the microphone so the sound holes face your mouth.
  • Position the microphone several inches away from your mouth so it does not overload when you speak. Try to balance the microphone position and the volume setting for optimum voice level.
  • Press the ALL MUTE button (the Rocketfish logo) on the left side of the headset once to make sure that the All Mute function is not activated. The LED on the wireless receiver will light red when All Mute is activated.
  • Make sure that the volume on the wireless receiver is not turned down or muted. The LED on the wireless receiver will light orange when Mute is activated.
  • Rotate the CHAT VOLUME dial on the wireless receiver to control the chat volume.
  • Make sure the USB cable is connected to both the wireless transmitter and your device.
  • Make sure that all connections are correct and secure. Sometimes a cable may appear to be connected but it may not be pressed in all the way.
  • Make sure that the wireless receiver batteries are installed correctly. See Question 19.
  • Make sure that the wireless receiver batteries do not need replacing.
  • Make sure that the microphone isn't plugged into the Line In port (or vice versa).
  • Make sure the headphone jack is pushed all the way into the port.
  • If you're using an Xbox 360
    • Make sure the wireless receiver is connected to the Xbox 360 controller using the supplied chat cable. On the wireless receiver, press firmly, so no part of the silver jack is showing. This tight connection helps to make sure the cable does not fall out during gaming.
    • Try a different Xbox controller.
    • Try recording a message to a friend by selecting My Friends, Send a Message, then Add Voice. If you can hear yourself, the chat problem could be a game issue, a problem on the recipients end, or some other variable not related to the headset.
  • Try testing the microphone by connecting the headset to a smart phone and make a test call or record a memo. If you can hear yourself, the chat problem could be a game issue, a problem on the recipients end, or some other variable not related to the headset.

If these steps don't work, then I would advise seeking replacement.

You must use a compatible transmitter, not just any old one on the right frequency.

Try adjusting your squelch level, it should be no higher than 05 or 10. If a higher squelch level is required it means you are on an active channel and need to change to another free on.

Try adjusting the squelch. I'm not familiar with your unit but it's worked with others. You can also try adjusting the antenna on the receiver and even moving the receiver to other positions on stage.

Make sure the microphone and the receiver are still broadcasting/receiving on the same channel.
Check that all of the appropriate connections are right from the receiver to the mixing board are connected as well.
I hope this helps!
