Slow starts are usually associated with parts breakdowns in the power supply area. This can be as simple as a defective capacitor, but usually involves other parts that have changed values because of heat or age. The main issue here is to focus on the problem and not the symptom. Symply changing capacitors might get this to work, but will not truely solve the problem, just correct a symptom. What is needed is to determine why the capacitor went bad and correct that issue as well. Otherwise, the same problem will occur again.

Please post the make and model so we can get you more detailed information.

Thanks,
Dan

I have to disagree Capacitors that are made with poor quality ARE the pricipal issue why power supplies take a unexpected turn, Capacitors aloung with fuses are the first to go. Whilst your assumption that it is sometinhg else I would like to hear. Capacitors are not the number 1 causes or all the problem in all tv sets that area is correct, But the issue we play here in today market on eletrolytic capcitors made in other countires like what china to say the least can be the reason why they gone bad. Quality in these newer TV's is the issue here.

I am just wondering what other insite you had for the asker. your saying i am right and I am wrong in the same message not teling the asker what it may be.

I need to know model number of your 60 inch tv to determine possible cause of problem.
I disagree that capacitors are responsible for all problems in tv, there are many more parts that can go bad and tv model number will help me to check related schematics for proper solution.
TV repair is not that easy thing that any one can do it by guessing bad/ bulged capacitors all the time. It requires electronics knowledge and years of on-hand experience to find out problem by knowing symptoms over internet.
A real TV Expert will ask few questions about tv symptoms before offering any solution of problem.
Unfortunately few people think that every tv is made of bunch of capacitors that go bad soon and need to be replaced to fix any problem in tv, this is not true.

This would have to do with the eletrolytic capacitors inside taking a long time to fill, what happens is they ether buldge or go bad, the thing to do here is replace the power supply or repair the power board its all up to you but both options are on the table.

questions let me know

please do rate and leave feedback before you go.

My hisense 50 inch lcd tv has picture but no sound.

If you still have back light, then the T-con is probably defective. If you don't have back light, then you either have a bad power board/inverter or a defective panel

How to clean a monitor screen?

The best way to clean lcd monitors and touchscreen devices is with a microfiber cloth and a solution of 50% water and 50% white vinegar. This is basically what they sell in stores for about 1000 times the price that you can make it for.

It will cost $50 to $100 to trouble-shoot and repair any 15-inch monitor.

It will cost $20 to $40 to purchase a "pre-owned" 15-inch LCD monitor.

If will cost $50 to $100 to buy a new 17-inch LCD monitor.

Your money; your choice.

The display on the screen is jumping and does not hold still. Can this be fixed or is it time to replace the monitor?

A "previously-owned" 17-inch LCD screen probably will cost $30 to $50.
A brand-new 17-inch LCD screen is hard to find -- probably, nothing less than 19-inches is being sold, for $100 to $150.
An audio/video technician will charge $60 to $75 per hour to try to repair your LCD.

So, responsibly recycle (or "free-cycle") your old screen, and purchase a new 19-inch screen.

My LG 700E crt monitor has stop functining to control brightness and contrast ,Any other way to increase or decrease brightness and contrast. pls let me know thanks

It's time to RESPONSIBLY RECYCLE any 17-inch CRT monitor, and buy a LCD monitor;
used LCD monitors can be purchased for under $50.

It would cost you over $50 to take the CRT to a TV/Video repair shop, for trouble-shooting and repair.

Spend $50 to $100 at any TV/video repair-shop, for trouble-shooting and repair.

Or, spend $40 to $50 to buy a used 17-inch LCD screen, or $100 to buy a new 19-inch LCD screen.

Spend $50 to $100 to buy a new 17-inch or 19-inch LCD monitor.

Or, spend that much to have a qualified technician *TRY* to trouble-shoot, and hope that he/she does NOT tell you to spend $50 to $100 to buy a new 17-inch or 19-inch LCD monitor.

It is showing a permanent white and a blue line vertically on screen

Around here, "previously-owned" 17-inch LCD monitors are available for $50. If you take your monitor to a TV/video technician, it will cost *MORE* than $50 for "labour" by the technician to trouble-shoot.

Buy a replacement monitor, and responsibly recycle the old monitor.
