Question about Computers & Internet
Hi. Please connect an external monitor to see if the laptop is booting
up completely. If you get video on external monitor, one of the 3
components of your LCD assembly had gone bad. There are 3
possibilities: 1st - bad LCD screen, 2nd - bad Cold Cathode Fluorescent
Lamp (CCFL), 3rd - bad inverter.
To see if the problem is with CCFL, turn on your laptop and tilt the LCD backward. You should see an image on the screen but its really dim.
You need a known-good inverter to determine whether you have a bad LCD or inverter. You need to disassemble your LCD panel to test the inverter and LCD and I suggest to have your laptop checked by a certified laptop technician to avoid further damage.
Let me know if you have the tools, skills and willingness to purchase parts and spend time to disassemble your laptop and I will help you with the diagrams and instructions. Good luck.

Hi. This might be an LCD problem that you are encountering. Let us try to troubleshoot the issue first. Take out the battery first and unplugged the power adapter from the wall socket. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs then put everything back in. If Nothing happens after this procedure, then i suggest to have your laptop repaired by HP since you have a 100 percent LCD problem in your computer.
