Hello,

Either the high voltage portion of your power supply has failed (allowing too high of a voltage off the flyback transformer - Danger, a high XRAY condition may exist) or the CRT tube has become grounded (need CRT replacement).

Either scenario will require a trip to a service shop.

I have a emerson mw8999rd that started crackling and sparking what cause this and can it be repair?

Sounds bad. Most likley caused by the magnetron tube arcing to the waveguide. Repair may be possible, but would be expensive (more than the microwave is worth). And if the arcing was severe or occurred for more that just 2 or 3 seconds, the waveguide may be damaged, and that is unrepairable.

Can't get battery cover to turn.

Upon reading this and looking for some oil, I saw a suction cup for a small window hanging thingy, took the suction cup and attached it and turned, came right off.

Bulb flickers and makes an electrical spark noise but only for around 30 seconds on starting programme

Is it an electrical spark noise or is it actually sparking inside your microwave oven? Watch as you heat something. This also might appear to be the bulb flickering, when it's actually a sparking. I only know how to fix it if it's an actual spark, or what might be called "arcing." This is not supposed to happen.

Inside your microwave, there is a "cover" over the area where your bulb is. If this cover has a burned place in it, or an actual hole in it, then it's your "waveguide cover." And this is the easiest thing to repair. I myself will not attempt any electrical repair, but this waveguide cover was a breeze.

You have to purchase replacement material... Then, when the replacement material arrives, remove the wave guide cover from your microwave, trace it, cut it out and put the new one in. It is very easy to fix. Sort of like paper dolls....

Google "waveguide cover" and you're on your way! IF that's the problem....

No suction for Kenmore upright vacuum

You have not stated which model vacuum you have. Bipass vacuum have a bipass compartment which is under drive unit. Make sure there are no cracks around housing as this is where you vacuume is created. In order to have vacuum you must have airflow, in assences suction. No air flow, no suction. If the airflow is deverted somehow suction will stop. Your filter, your bag are all sources of air flow. Clog either and you lose suction. Start with loss of air, being cracks in housing, bag or filter

Loud noise coming from DC07

Sometimes the brush bar may be slightly bent and has been rubbing against the yellow housing part (at the hole where the belt is) and has melted part of it off, the part which holds the brushes in place. The noise may the bar vibrating against the yellow part because they are now loose. Unfortunately you may have to replace both parts.

Got oil on one of my spark plugs and it has no power. But it don't smoke?

Replace the valve cover gasket, and make sure that it comes with the spark plug tube seals. probably replace the plugs if they need it, and the plug wires should be replaced if they've gotten very much oil on them since the oil degrades their ability to insulate, and the plugs will start arcing up the sides and engine will start misfiring.

Check the seals around the inside of the spark plug chambers, where the valve cover meets, could be seaping in from there

Ionic breeze is arcing inside unit

I have a sharper image ionic breeze hybrid gp that ran fine for years unitl it recently started sparking / arcing at the base of the grid blades and always in the same spot. I cleaned it several times but the sparking always came back and the unit went into either "drying grid" or "attention required" mode. The solution I found was to stand the removable grid in 2 inches of Pine-Sol cleaner 50/50 diluted with water for 24 hours then brush again with the cleaning brush and hot water. Presto! No more sparking.

Panasonic PT-53WX54 What is that popping noise?

A loud popping noise, like a sharp "snap!", is usually caused by high voltage arcing. Somewhere in the high voltage system an insulator may be cracked or loose, such as the plastic around the flyback transformer or one of the rubber cups on a picture tube. When the high voltage arcs, it momentarily drops and the picture could go out for a split second. High voltage is dangerous in projection sets so allow a qualified tech to service it for you.
