Grounding noise during washing cycle. Maytag washer

Hi, Check your motor coupling, it is between the motor and transmission, made of rubber and plastic, if it is not broken and you heard a lot of screaching ,i would say it is your basket drive tube-could have gotten worn down on the bottom around the clutch brake area! Better purchase a used basket drive tube, install it with a new clutch and it will start working for you.

Model 110.92596100 won't spin

then there may be a problem with the basket drive tube,,,I found on my machine that the thrust washer had ground off the bottom of the basket drive tube and the clip that holds on the brake release arm had fell off and the arm fell down breaking the 2 little pins that go into the cam and it was not releasing the brake allowing the basket to spin,,,,i got a used 1 for 50 bucks installed it with a new clutch and works fine now,,, so i would check that area!

Washer does not spin but makes loud clicking noise?

sounds like you could have a problem with your basket drive tube, around the clutch brake area! my machine would not spin and i found out the bottom of the basket drive tube had been ground off by the thrust washer which resulted in the clip that holds the brake release arm fell off and broke the 2 little pins on the brake release arm and it would not disengage the brake to allow the basket to spin, i bought a used basket drive tube and a new clutch ,installed and unit works fine now,,,so take a look also check your motor coupling see if it is broken ,,, and 1 more thing ,up under your agitator is the basket drive block sometimes it shears off the notches on the top of your drive tube!

The spin cycle is not working. I already replaced the clutch assembly. Still, it did not wrok.

when you replaced the clutch did you look at the bottom of your basket drive tube to see if it was worn down, also the white plastic brake release arm could have the 2 little lineup pins broken off, or your drive block could be worn out,it is under your agitator,,,,,i found out on my machine that the bottom of the basket drive tube has a brass t post and the thrust washer had worn it off completely, the clip that holds the brake release arm fell off and broke those 2 little fingers off the arm,,,,,,i had to buy a used basket drive tube installed it with a new clutch and now the spin cycle works fine !! give it a good look at

Problem with Kenmore Washing Machine.

IF your coupling is broke then put a new one on and see, but without a coupling then you dont have a washer period. Whirlpool is very good make if a new coupling does not work and you can hold the tub while it is spinning then you have a bad basket drive. but put a coupling on and then put it in spin, bypass the switch with a ink pen or something and try holding the tub if you can then its the basket drive if not your good to go.

Front loading washer makes loud noise

HI,

may i know the model of your washing machine ?
if it is a kenmore you can check this suggestion.

With the lid open, set the cycle to spin and press the lid switch button with a pen. Wait until the drum gets to full speed and release the lid switch. If the drum makes a knocking/ thumping noise and doesn't stop spinning within 2-3 seconds, the basket drive block is worn and needs to be replaced. (The basket drive block is located on the gearcase drive shaft, under the tub and agitator) If this has been happening for a long time you may need to replace the brake and drive tube assembly as well.

Basket drive block part number is 389140

A dozen or so loads shouldn't have caused any damage to the brake and drive tube assembly.
The basket drive block is about $20. You will need a spanner wrench to remove the span nut

that screws onto the basket drive block. They have one for about $20

If the brake and drive tube tabs are bent, your best bet would be to replace the brake and drive assembly. You can try gently bending them back with pliers, but I would hate for them to snap off completely. Be careful not to damage the seal in the process.
Depending on the severity of the bend in the tabs, you may not need to do anything to them. Make sure to line up the tabs to the slots on the new basket drive block and hammer in down completely until the tabs and slots are flush. Inspect to see if the bent edges of the tabs are bent inward further than the width of the basket drive block slots. If they're bent too far in, it may wear the new block out quickly and the same issue will come up.
When you re-install the spanner nut to the basket drive block make sure to tighten it hard (use the spanner wrench and a hammer/malet.)
You don't need to grease the shaft.

thanks,

Inner basket scrapes on bottom of liner tub during spinn cycle

It sounds like the basket drive block is worn. If it looks like the basket drive block has slid down the brake & drive tube (I believe you're calling it the spindle), it's definitely worn out. When this part is in place it sits on top of the brake & drive tube and won't allow the basket to go lower. To replace this, remove the cabinet to gain access to the the inner basket which you will have to remove. On the top of the brake & drive tube you will see 2 small tabs. Align these with the cutouts on the basket drive block. Mount the drum back on top, and tighten the spanner nut. Reassemble the cabinet and you should be good to go.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Good luck!

Would a new basket drive help?

not that unique, whats happening is the transmission has a wig wag and shift cam bars that are not moving at the right time. you probably have an open coil on the wig wag and its normal for them to do this when a coil fails. just take the 5/16 screw out of the wig wag and lift it off the plungers, then replace it with a new one. all should work correctly after that.

ok so now i have seen your ? 4 times and you dont need a basket drive either.
you might want to make sure you didnt unhook a wire from the wig wag when you changed the motor and it could also be the cam bars are just stuck, which ever, just look at the wig wag and bars. that will be your area to repair.
