I have the exact same problem! I couldn't make it all the way through setting up my printer b/c the screen prompt says "raise cover and remove cardboard or tape that is preventing the print cartridge from moving" ...but I can't find any tape or cardboard! Please help me so I can finish setting up my brand new printer and actually put it to use.

There is no tape or cardboard to remove. It just doesn't move.

I have looked where the printer cartridges are installed. Nothing there. No cardboard. No tape. Nothing in the help files.

Open the front door and look inside, where the cartridges are installed. Make sure that the carriage is moving freely and doesn't get locked.

Do I remove the metal strip on the printer cartridge before putting it in th eprinter?

Hi, There is a piece if tape to be taken off and then you can put it in the printer. The tape covers the print head for packing. Turn on your printer and open the cartridge bay and put it in the slot making sure the copper part meets the other copper part in printer. Then close cartridge bay door and your good to go.Note: The cartridge should snap in when installed correctly.

The sensor that senses the Cartridge may be blocked by toner residue. Clean it then reinstall the new toner cartridge.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy New Year!
