Pull the panel above the two copper lines you will see two wires leading into a contactor (it will be the first thing the power runs to) check to see if the contactor is stuck closed be very careful because it is wired with high voltage and trust me it hurts

Why does blower wheel stop on Frigidaire dehumdifier?

Good Afternoon Desi,

I understand that the blower wheel is not spinning on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504DUD. I also see that the compressor will stay on unless the dehumidifier is unplugged. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further assistance. They can possibly clarify why the compressor stays on and why the blower fan is not working. If not, they should at least be able to point you in the right direction of having your dehumidifier working. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Ac unit runs, inside blower shuts off after 2 mins, compressor continues to run, t-stat still calling for cool

My central AC unit decided to stop on the hottest day of the year. It would start and run normally for a few minutes and then the blower would shut off. After checking the breakers, thermostat and overflow shut off (did not have one) I saw something about a blower motor capacitor. This was easy to get to and replace and my last hope before waiting for someone to come fix it. The capacitor cost $4.04 with tax and had my AC working again. Needless to say I was beyond happy. I hope this can help others with a similar problem.

We have a MXZ-3A30NA that does not seem to be cooling down the house. Indoor temps are reading 75 to 78 degrees and the units are set at 65. We have gone through the book and have followed the check list...

Hi!!

Check the following:

Make sure the filter and the evaporator coil are clean. Also check condenser coil in the outside unit is clean.

When unit is turned on there should be (on the led display, inside unit) one green light on for the blower and another one for the compressor, both lights should be ON untill the unit reaches the preset temp. If the light for the compressor (usually the light on the right side) does not stay ON, check the outside unit.

On the outside unit, check that when turned on, both the fan and the compressor kick in and stay running. If the fan motor stops, the compressor overheats and the thermal proteccion shuts it down to prevent damage. Also, if the R22 gas is low, the low pressure switch prevents the compressor from running.

Good Luck!!

Fireplace will not stay lit and pilot light is on

This sounds like the high temperature switch has failed and is telling the unit to shut down after it gets started, the pilot has to be lit for the main gas valve to turn on when the thermostat calls for heat, The main burner comes on and stays on until the thermostat is satisfied and tells it to shut off, you dont say if there is a blower in this unit, if there is a blower after the main flame comes on the unit heats up it turns on the blower if equiped. If the blower fails to turn on the unit would be shut down on overtemp as the firebox would get to hot and be in danger of causeing a fire. if no blower there still is an overtemp switch that shuts the unit down if it gets to hot or the switch is bad, it could be a bad overtemp switch or if equiped a bad blower motor or even a plugged chimney as this would also cause a overheat ing condition. Hope This Helps Don

A/C unit compressor shuts off

You will need a technician to check the system pressures with a gauge. Souns like the compressor is fighting high pressure in the coil that is outside.. Try this.Right after the compressor chugs to a stop, un plug unit and run cool garden hose water over the outsife coil for a few minutes, then see if the compressor will start again any sooner yhan before. If so. High pressure is the problem. But you still need a tech to adjust the refrigerant level. Make sure air is blowing out from the coils. You may want to clean the coils before our little test Hose it out with pressure yo remove any buildup on the coil and fins. Spray with 409 if you wish, it would help remove the dirt. Let it drip dry for half an hour and see if the compressor still shuts down. Make sure any water coming from the a/c itself is draining so the fan doesn't throw it around. Good luck Ned

When compressor on the blower keeps trying to shut down.

You may have a bad capacitor. But you may nee a service tech to check it out. There is only so far you can go without knowledge of Air Conditioning. Ask for free estimate and you will know upfront what the cost is . RUS

Outside fan and compressor does not shut off

the system is wrong, the blower must run continuously , and the compressor is the will stop if the temperature setting is reached. The outside fan is the same as the comp.
