If you can turn on the camera while charging you can see the charging indicator on the LCD monitor which will indicate the level of charge the battery is currently at.

Fuji finepix Z1 has DSC on screen ?

Hi and welcome to FixYa.

The reason it doesn't charge properly is probably due to age of the battery. Over time, they charge less and less. You need to replace the battery.

DSC Mode means you can access your card.

There is not enough room to explain every step to moving your pictures to the pc. Please refer to your manual to learn how to do this. If you have any other questions you can leave me a comment.

Have fun with your camera,

Rob

I have the Fuji FinePix Z1, the battery is not staying charged for a long period of time, always having to charge it, is it time for a new battery??

Generally Lithium-Ion camera batteries will last around 1-2 years. The batteries have a "memory", meaning that after a certain number of charges they begin to hold less of a charge. If your camera is still under the manufacturers warranty you can contact your manufacturer for assistance, otherwise most places you can buy digital cameras carry replacement batteries, but it is definitely time for a new one.

My fuji finepix z1 doesnt turn on unless it is on the charger

check that you have the battery in the correct way - its easy to think that you've put it in the right way...when you haven't.

Alternatively the battery may be dead.

Depressing my shutter button on my Fuji FinePix E550 causes it to turn off. When I turn it back on there is a no image message. Is it cheaper to buy a new camera than to have it fixed? Thanks for help

You just need new batteries. That's what the E550 does when the batteries get too low. Please get the latest rechargables. Many of the ordinary AA batteries won't last 50 pictures. Fuji also is rather poor telling you how to charge the rechargables. When the screen goes blue when you take a picture, you must use the camera's de=charging system before recharging--otherwise the rechargables will not take a full charge--that's what's likely happened to you!

This is a CCD sensor ( see pic below from Canon camera with same pixalage and specs ) problem : outputting too much noise or nothing at all so the sensor must be replaced ( not a big job but ha sto be done by someone with experience and the right parts ). Fuji will repair free of charge , if I am not mistaken, so you need to contact your Fuji agent .b16210b.jpg

Fuji A345 finepix

As batteries are recharged- they develop a 'memory' That is to say starting with a new fully charged battery- the 'low' light may come in when the voltage drops below a certain value. The battery is not however fully discharged. It could have say 25% residual in it. When recharging- the charger is charging the 75% only, and on the next recharge- that mush less again until the battery is only offering a small percentage of its capacity. The answer is to put the low battery in a simple device - a torch - until it is completely down Then recharge - you will then get the full capacity of the battery. Meanwhile do contact the Tech support of the manufacturer just in case there is a known problem with a given model.
