Question about Microwave Ovens

Open Question

I have just bought an AEG Electrolux HK634200FB induction hob and I just cannot get it to work. I bought specific saucepans from M&S and the code for unsuitable cookware appears, even though they meet all the criteria in the manual. When I used a different saucepan, the unsuitable cookware code does not appear, but when I tried to boil a pan of water....absolutely nothing happens....help....where am I going wrong???

Keep the old knobs but put some Loctite thread loc adhesive on the screws. If you use the high temperature version of loctite, the screws will stay tight forever. Loctite is about $3-5 at hardware or auto parts stores.

Code e on only two of the right hand zones on siemens induction hob

Hello.

These codes mean that the oven's electronic control hasdetected a condition it needs to check which mean error. When you see a code, follow these steps to solve the problem:
  • Press "Stop/Clear" to clear the display and stop the beeping.
  • Reprogram the oven.
  • If the code still displays, turn off the power to the oven at your breaker box and wait five minutes before turning it back on.
Thanks.

I have a new induction cook top. When using for the first time I found an F or P appeared next to the element I was using. I have bought stainless steel cookware specifically to use. The user manual...

Stainless steel (or Aluminium) cookware will not normally work with an Induction cooker: Induction cooker need cookware that have a certain amount of metal especially at the bottom of the pot or pan.

An easy way to check if the cookware is suitable is to use a small (fridge) magnet: if it stick to the pot/pan then it is very likely that the pot/pan is suitable for induction 'magnetic' cooking!

Hope my small hint is of assistance and if so, vote accordigly!

I would suspect a bad door switch or door switch mount, or possibly a bad electrolytic capacitor on the control circuit board.

See:

Beyond that, I could only speculate, since I don't have experience or information on AEG products.

ENLIGHTENMENT ON AN ERROR CODE

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Otherwise, your best bet is to contact AEG customer service here:
http://www.aeg-electrolux.co.uk/node137.asp

I'd bet that customer service will not know the meaning of the code (if it's not in your owner's manual) and they will steer you to a service center.

The service center will probably not tell you what the code means, preferring instead to repair it for you.

Good luck.
