Epson 837 printer error

OK, often when removing a paper jam this can happen:

1) - when pulling the jammed paper out you can leave behind a small piece or loosen up another small piece from a previous jam. This piece can then become the 'new' jam by clogging the jam sensor or switch. Use a small flashlight to look done the previous jammed area to see if this is the case.

2) - when pulling the jammed paper out you can 'mis align' or damage the jam sensor (or switch) so that it always registers a jam. this fix may require a technician or repair shop to fix.

MF4350d gives a paper jam error when it has no paper in it.

I hired a technician who came to house and showed me where the paper jam was hidden... found technician on craigslist for $50 flat rate, came out on Saturday. He solved the paper jam problem in 20 minutes. One place to check for paper jam you cannot see until to look behind a hinged plastic flap above the cartridge area. Remove cartridge.Above the cartridge area is a width-wide plastic piece, about 1 to 1 1/2 inch wide from top to bottom, hindged along the top edge, moves but is attached along the two lower corners of the piece by small springs (one at each corner) to the housing of the machine. You cannot easily lift the plastic flap up to look behind it for paper jam until you remove the springs. I used forceps to remove them. Tweezers may work. Don't lose them! Once you remove the springs you can easily lift up the plastic flap (it is hinged) and look behind it into the crevices for any paper. That is where we found a small piece of paper. We needed a skinny forceps to reach into the crevice to get the paper out.

Printer says paper jam when there is not one. I checked the paper path and there is no paper or bits of paper visible.

There may still be a small piece of paper present. The HP 3210 appears to have a very sensisitive sensor. My mother's printer had a jam, we removed all paper, inspected throughly, still didn't work. In the end we took it to an engineer who confirmed that there had been a very small piece of paper which he was able to remove and it's working again now.

Paper jam, removed paper but still says jammed. Is there any way to tell where the jam is or reset machine ?

You should be able to have a piece of paper feed all the way without hanging.
Most of the times, you can see a small piece of paper stuck in a corner.
I have used a cut piece of plastic ( from a file folder ) and worked small pieces out that way.
Good luck, Happy Holiday's

I had a paper jam. I removed the paper jam already but computer says it still there. How do I reset it?

It's possible there's still a small piece of paper or dust stuck in the paper feed. Try blowing the area out with compressed air.

PAPER JAM

give this a shot
try this, its probably a small part of jammed paper or then theres a problem with the pickup, try cleaning it.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Clear paper jam will not go away after clearjng jam

When you cleared the paper jam did you remove it in one piece? If not you may still have a small piece tripping one of the sensors and it may require you to remove the cover to examine it closer.

If the paper jam occured behind the toner cartridge, did someone pull it out and leave a piece behind the toner? Look to see if there is a small piece of paper jamed in the connector of the toner / developing unit. Also look for any small piece of paper in the paper path.
