Question about Cameras

1 Answer

The camera I purchased for a east african safari failed miserably and great photo opportunities were lost. The batteries were loose in the designated place and the camera would always turn off. Can this be corrected and how? I like the camera if it works.

It sounds like the camera is a recent purchase, and as such should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. You did not provide the camera info, so I can't help with getting contact information for you.

You could try bringing the camera to the store from which it was purchased, or even a camera specialty store, and talk to someone knowledgeable about your camera there. It is probably an issue with spring - like battery contacts that - depending on type - can be fixed fairly quickly by gently prying.

If you wish to add some camera make & model information, I can help a bit more.

Good luck!

Lost visibility on view

As long as the USB cable is connected to the camera, you can't use it to shoot, nor to view.
If your camera does not work as expected, remove the battery, and after a few moment reinsert it.
Make sure the battery is charged, before you reinsert it.

Battery door cover on digital canon sd 1400 is is missing. lil rubber piece, door is ok but there is a hole and few lil holes exposed where that protective piece belongs.

If you're in the east coast or near New york City you can send the camera in to us and we can just pop a new door onto the camera. Usually it's just $15.00 to do that. Give us a call.

When i pressed the power button, the camera is not coming on

There may be one of three things going on; try one at a time until you are successful.
a.) The battery is not charged to capacity and you must purchase a new one(s) or recharge the NiMH batteries.
b.) The battery compartment is loose because of a cracked plastic piece and must be glued CAREFULLY so that the contacts from the camera meet the ones from the battery case.
c.) There are no batteries in the camera, and you need to find the correct set and install it.

Have fun taking great photos!

I have a samsungL100 camera. Have not used it for a while, actually since June 6, 2009, my son's wedding. I attempted to recharge the battery and have no idea whether or not the battery is charged. ...

You can use a card reader to download the wedding pics to your computer. The battery may have gone to a better place...that sometimes happens when they are left uncharged for too long.

Vehicle not starting - engine turns over slowly

This sounds like a classic dead battery. Car batteries do fail eventually - if over 3 years old you are doing well.
They loose capacity - so do not have enough power to crank efficiently.

Try a full charge for at least 4 hours - then try cranking again. If you get life - then replace the battery at the ealiest opportunity. Online battery merchants are often cheaper than local outlets - and deliver to your door. Check out prices before purchase - and please recycle your old battery.

There is no "giraffe herd running"

the herd is over the ridge. they pass a large rock formation which has a resting male lion on it. if you hear a weird shaking or rumbling then the herd is nearby. you may have missed them. though. so if you did then find a dark small valley on the other side of the rock fomation.follow it. the herd will be drinking from a lake at the other side.

Lost software. So cannot connect USB port to download photo

Assuming you are referring to a digital camera.... Download and install Picasa (a photo manager from Google). It will detect your camera. If that fails, purchase a Media Reader and use it to read the information on your camera's memory card.
