Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W4100 52 in. LCD HDTV

The screen is split into 5 or 6 sections with the top section stretching its image down to create a ghost image over the lower portions.after the tv warms up the problem goes away.15 minutes or so.

Our Phillips flat screen TV picture is split down the middle vertically. One side shows a mirror image of the other side, and then sometimes one side is a lighter shade than the other, when it is full...


This may be due to a faulty Timing Control board (TCON board). I had a similar problem with my Samsung LCD TV picture being split vertically down the middle. The image on both halves appeared fuzzy and in reverse (mirror) including the menus. I replaced the TCON board and the problem was resolved.

Philips tv 20pt1782 want service manual


hi! this is shiharan.i am repairing a philips20PT,crt type tv.the problem is that only the lower half(vertical) portion of the picture tube lights up to display pictures.after taking off the back cover i am not been able to locate the horizontal,vertical driver IC.Perhaps the driver section is built arround FET.Please help me.. hi! Visual transparent lines at top of picture


You have a vertical output circuit problem. This was common for Philips' sets. Have a repair shop check it out. Should not be too expensive to repair.

the problem is inside your TV , check the capacitor in vertical section of the TV.

You need to replace convergence ICs in TV for correct converge picture.
Below is an image of D board and ICs are marked need to replaced.

If you are familiar with TV repair and knows basic electronics then can do this job OR call TV tech to fix it.

Top Portion of Screen not displaying/updating images correctly


The problem could be with the controller board in the back of the monitor, but more likely the LCD itself though. Could be the flat ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the controller, rather unlikely but I have seen them lose contact.

Repaiur or replacement? It's Your call! If you know Solid State repairs, then worth a try. Most likely a bad Electrolytic capacitor in the Vertical Oscillator / Output section. Do not waste time identifying faulty one, but change all at one go. Even if one is faulty, the others must have started drying up, and will cause problems in the future.Remember "An Ounce of prevention is better than......"
