The evporator fan is a variable speed so it change speed according to the demand if the door was open long or the ambient temp is high then the fan should run at high speed when the temperature goes normal the the fan run slow and more smooth.

If you hear a litle louder sound from fan than usual then probably you have a defrost problem since it might gathering a litle more ice than normal and that make the fan noise louder. And of course after a defrost the fan run fine and silent.

You should just leave if for a couple of houres switch of but try to leave the doors closed so you will have a natural defrost. Switch it on and check again the noice. if the first hours everything seems fine and after again you hear more loud noise then you should replace the defrost timer.

I have and Frigidaire model Number FRS3HR5J80. WHat wrong when a refrigerator will not stay cool buy if you unplug it for a day it will start back keeping cool and freezing?

depends on how long its running good and cooling and freezing but it does sound like a start relay or defective fan motor defective run capacitor can you remove the cover on the back. I need you to keep an eye on the condenser fan because sometimes they run fine for a while and then they stop running or they Slow way down and feel the top of your compressor to tell me how hot it is I want to know if its warm if it runs all the time or if it's too hot to touch or keep your hand on it. let me know what you come up with and I'm going to list out the parts that I think it is in my next comments

Occasionally the ice maker wont keep up or slows down and wont keep up with demand

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Unfortunitly there is no way to change the production rate. Sometimes lowering the temperature in the freezer will help but not much.If the freezer is opened and closed allot it slows it down even more.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Describe your frigidaire frs23f5a freezer

With ours it is ice collection on the fan in the freezer section. This is located about half way down under the icemaker (please unplug to proceed). If you remove the four hex head screws and lift up the metal flap you will find the fan assemble and most likely the ice build up to chip off.

Fridge keeps ticking when not running???

Kevin, I'm going to give you a few scenerios to check out. The evaporator fan, inside the freezer will sometimes come in contact with ice and make this noise. Check your condensor fan, in back and make sure that is not hitting the shroud. If the overload on the compressor is tripping it will make a clicking sound, but it would be about every 4 to 5 minutes. If the unit goes into defrost, the evaportor coils tend to make a clicking sound. If you can be more specific as to where the noise is coming from, we might be able to help you back.
