Spin cycle won't work. Works when the load is lighter, no towels, and I manually move it around first. The hoses are not kinked.

Well, I only 12 and the mind of a 40 but not in these things. But I think that you should read the manual and if it still doesn't work then get it checked out or call the company to complain, maybe they'll send someone to fix it.Hope I helped.

Cycle with towels keeps going 'OE' and it's locked so cannot unlock it, trying to rewash when I could get it open only adds more water to cycle and goes back into OE mode

Hi Donna.
It sounds like the machine is not draining.
This can be because the pump is jammed with something (like lint) or that something is blocking the drain hose or the hose is kinked (Common cause)
Check that the hose isn't kinked. If the hose allows water to run freely when you lower it to the floor it indicates that there is no blockage, in which case the problem is likely in the pump.
Not a big job for a repairman with the right tools.
Good luck

Water is in the drum after a complete washing cycle, you can't see the water but you can here it slushing around and leaves a foul order when not used for several days.

Make sure that the outlet hose is not blocked and the filter is clear.

If this is OK then the following from Maytag may be helpful. If not call a repair man for service.

Is the Delicate or Hand Wash cycle selected?
Spin speeds can vary by the cycle that is selected. Your washer is designed so that in certain cycles, such as the Delicate or Hand Wash cycles, the spin speeds are slower. In these cycles, more water is retained in the load at the end of the cycle to protect the delicate fabrics from shrinking and wrinkling. Select the appropriate cycle based on the fabric being washed.
Was Max Extract selected?
Ideal for heavy loads such as towels and bedding, Max Extract removes more water from loads during spin.

Were you washing one bulky item, such as a rug or large blanket?
Consider adding more items to help balance the load during spin. Select Drain/Spin or Spin Only cycle and restart the washer. Your washer is designed to detect an unbalanced load and automatically lower the spin speed. Unbalanced conditions are more likely to occur with a single, bulky item.
Are excessive suds present?
Use only HE High Efficiency detergent. Using non-HE detergent or more than the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent can cause excessive suds. The excess suds can cause the washer to run at a reduced spin speed, which will result in very wet loads.

Is the drain hose kinked or is the drain clogged?
Make sure the drain hose is not kinked. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form or hose retainer on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose. See the Installation Instructions for details.

Is the end of the drain hose more than 96" (244 cm) above the floor?
The drainpipe (standpipe) height requirements are: 96" (244 cm) maximum and 30" (76.2 cm) minimum. Your washer will not be able to adequately pump the water out of the washer if the drainpipe (standpipe) exceeds 96" (244 cm). In this case, the water may flow back into the washer. See the Installation Instructions for details; find them by entering your model number in the Manuals and Literature search below.

Is your outlet voltage low?
Check the electrical source or call an electrician.

Flashing F2

“F02” (Drain Problem)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked?
Is the drain hose frozen?
Is the drain hose clogged?
Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor?

After running this check list, plug back up and try a complete cycle using cold water and no detergent. Sudding can mimic a drainage issue as well. make sure you are using the correct HE detergent to prevent over sudding.

Select the highest spin speed for the fabric being washed. If extra low spin or no spin was selected, the washer may not remove enough water from the load.

Consider adding more items to help balance the load during spin. Select $FL-drainspin cycle and restart the washer. Your washer is designed to detect an unbalanced load and automatically lower the spin speed. Unbalanced conditions are more likely to occur with a single, bulky item.
