Press both the center button and menu until the circular spinning icon shows that the thing is rebooting. Also, try holding play for 5-10 seconds to shut the thing off. Then hold play for 5-10 seconds to turn it back on.
Is it still on or does it stay frozen off? If it's still on and frozen, simple hold the top button and the home button at the same time and wait until it restarts and the apple logo will appear. Then if it does this again later on when using the iPod, do the same thing and plug it into the computer and do a full restore or upgrade.
Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!
Had the same problem at the weekend there, and my friend told me to hold the menu button and the centre button down at the same time for around 10-15secs, and this will reboot the ipod. Hope this helps you also :)
Well i have a other problem with my ipod. When i hooked my ipod up to my computer with my usb cable. When i try to put song music video and movies on my ipod it wont let me because i only have two folders on my ipod. i have candler and News on my ipod. I wont to do i have to download files to my ipod or what do i have to do. i just need a lil bit of help from you.
Try putting the ipod in disk mode by pressing the center and play buttons after resetting it (by holding down the center and menu buttons). You will know it is in disk mode when it shows a check mark on the ipod screen. Then plug it into your vcomputer and format it using windows.
After you format the ipod, try disconnecting and reconnecting to the computer and restore and see if that fixes your problem.
Did you use iTunes to transfer the songs? If you used Windows Media Player, that won't work, at least for me. To download iTunes, go to apple.com. If you think the songs are on the iPod, connect it to your computer and search it through My Computer. Hope that works.
