Question about HP DesignJet 1055cm InkJet Printer

Open Question

I'm getting a "Failed 15" error message on my 1055cm Plotter. Does this mean I need a new print head for my black ink - or what does this indicate?

SOURCE: black ink not coming through

I had the same problem. Ended up replacing the black/yellow "printhead" and that corrected the problem.

SOURCE: HP Officejet K850 pro prints black ok, but colors are poor

I read earlier that black and magenta were printing but not cyan or yellow.....HP says to gently wipe the side of the electronic band but not the bottom, I did all of the above...and the printheads carefully, no change w/ the printout from "clean printheads"...the cyan had an occasional blue line(very fine) and there was no yellow.

So I trickled warm water over the cyan and yellow printheads....then thought what the heck, got a bowl of warm water and swished the printheads half submerged. They print perfect now I have the reds, yellows, greens and all the colors back w/ the clean printhead option and printed a coupon, it was perfect.

I hope it's not a short term fix...I developed the problem when I didn't print for a long time, hope this helps someone, Cyn

BTW, I flashed a light down in the recepticle for the cyan and yellow printheads and they were gunky w/ blue and yellow gook, so I clean that out w/ a damp lint free rag....paper towels shredded and I had to carefully remove the remnants.

Hello. The error 0A0010 indicates an air pressure system failure. The APS is located under the ink supply station on the left side of the plotter. The assembly can be ordered from: C6072 60387 Designjet 1050C 1055CM APS Air Pressure System

The service manual with replacement instructions can be downloaded from: HP Designjet 1050C 1055CM repair parts and accessories

Hi, I believe this error occurs when there is no 24 volt supply to the PCB. Go back and check you have plugged all the connectors back in correctly.

Thanks

Does not print black. ink tank indicates full and

Black printer ink in Canon Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

I keep getting System Error 0A0000 00000002

The error indicates low air pressure to the ink supply station. There is either a leak or the Air Pressure System (APS) is bad. Check for ink inside the rear door to the Ink Supply Station (ISS) and at the print head locations at the carriage.

If there is ink leaking at the ISS, replace the ink cartridge that is leaking. If there is a leak at the print head, replace the ink tube system. If there are no leaks, replace the APS. See the following link for parts: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-654-designjet-1050c-1055cm.aspx

Its either the EIO card, make sure its seated properly, or the hard disk drive has failed in your plotter. Try running the plotter with out the hard disk drive, it is static sensitive, so make sure your grounded before removing it.

The problem is even we already replace the printheads with the new ones, the plotter still shows error message : replace 20 status. is there any way to solve this uncommon problems ?

When false "replace print head" messages occur, it is almost always a bad trailing cable. They are a little tricky to replace but if you want the manual to see how to do it, download it here: www.lpscomputer.com/ec/manuals.htm
The part is available here: http://www.lpscomputer.com/p-2296-c6074-60418-designjet-1050c-1055cm-trailing-cable.aspx

1055CM WITH BAD BLACK PRINT HEAD DISPLAY

more than likely the slot in your carriage assembly is faulty. try cleaning the contacts on the carriage assembly if that doesn't help, than more than likely you need to replace the carriage assembly and also the trailing cables. if you are going to keep this printer for awhile than you should also replace the carriage belt. if you can find a certified hp repair person, the cost should be around $500-600.

The HP Designjet 1055cm has 4 ink cartridges, 4 printheads and 4 printhead cleaners. My question is: Will the plotter still work properly if I just install the black ink cartridge along with the printhead...

I doubt it. When the printer powers up, it checks to make sure that all modules are in place and functional. If one is missing, you'll get an error message.

Cutter Problem

the cutter has that bushing attached to act as a tire as it travels across the scan axis, these infrequently wear out and cause the carriage to basically drag the blade behind causing your uneven cut pattern, the cutter must be replaced. If you need direction on how to do so please contact me
