If you can replace the antenna on your router, then you can try something like this:

We setup a router and our wireless signal is very weak how can we fix that

Well there's several options:

1. Change the channel on your router, as there may be a lot of interference on that channel, from other networks or devices in the area.
2. Move your router closer to the computer or vice versa.
3. Get a range extender and set it up in between the router and where the computer in question is.

You may also be able to get antennas that increase the range. Also if your router is wireless G, then you could get a wireless N router, as it has a larger range.

Hope this helped.

I am using 802.11b/g wireless lan. my signal

Hi,

Increasing signal may increase speed, but getting closer to the router would yeild the same result iif that is going to work. You would do it by going to the management page for your router, and adjusting the "antenna" or "signal" strength to maximum.

On a linksys the default ip for that page is 192.168.1.1, on other routhers you can look it up in the paperwork or on the manufacturers website.

Hope this helps!!

Wireless connection set up

Are you trying to hook up the laptop wirelessly to the pc? because then the pc would need to have a wireless card as well....sounds like I need more info, but if you are trying to do what I think you are, you should just get a wireless router instead, hook the pc tower directly to it via ethernet cable, and then setup the laptop to connect to the router. The router would hook to your dsl or cable router....what service do you have?

L300 wireless problem

Ive had a similar problem and it was due to windows and the software for the router both trying to run the network and was causing problems.Perhaps check and see if there are two programs running.

Other than that perhaps you could return that router if you can and stick with linksys or netgear.

Question :
Does it cut out the same no matter how close you sit to the router ?

The wireless lan on hp pavilion media center pc is getting a low signal one bar out of five. How do I determine if its the antenna or the 802.11 card that is faulty?

move either the router or the pc around. If this is a personal wireless you can buy or make antenna extenders to increase the range. You can also try a different firmware like dd-wrt which allows for greater control of the wireless.

Belkin (F5D7050) 802.11a Wireless Adapter think ive installed this ok, device manager says working, but no flashing led on adapter on adapter software and says no network avalible however kids wireless...

Power off the computer, take out the adapter. move it to a different PCI slot, then restart.

If that does not work:
Uninstall the Belkin driver,
Power off unit . remove adapter.
Power on and install the drivers.
Power off once more and reinstall the card.
Restart and it should work.

I have problems playing videos on my laptop off the internet just keeps stoping and loading all the time and the sound keeps cutting off

The trouble is with your metwork connection through which the Laptop connects to the Internet. There is no proven way to increase the speed of connectivity. You may check your connection speed from the two-computer icons on the bottom-right corner and determine the speed. A speed of 2 mbps or more is ideal for viewing videos on internet.

Faulty wireless connection due to 2nd D-Link installation

If you are refering to a loss of signal this is ocurring more and more as we get into the wireless age. You need to play with it by switching the router channels. You can access the router by going to your internet explorer and in the address bar type the router url I/E 192.168.1.1 or whatever the manufacture recommends Most passwords are provided by them. You can onlu access the router through a wired machine generally in port one of your router You will find the channel settings in the advanced section of most WAN areas of your router. There is also a setting on some for increasing the signal strength. and one last trick if you have neighbors that are "jamming" you place your router on the floor intead of higher up . Good luck.. Be mucho Blessed...Mark
