Since the vents where blocked you might have damaged the screen itself sure the buffer will help sort most of the issue out, Remeber this is plasma not LCD, you might need a new screen, you might not accept this but at least i got the word out, if you want to keep throwing money at guess work that is your option,
But a overheated plasma could damage that actual display
