Question about Linksys RangePlus Wireless Router WRT110 - Wireless router + 4-port switch - EN, Fast EN, 802.11b, 8

1 Answer

Hi there, i have a WRT110 linksys router. i changed the max user setting from 50 to 5, hit save, and it locked up. now the power light flashes and it seems to be stuck in a loop. i cant access the router through the web interface. i tried the "30-30-30" reset and i let it sit unplugged overnight. from what i read online it sounds like its toast. is there no 'emergency' firmware mode for problems like this? thanx!!

Toast?

Well maybe see when you change the users from 50 to 5 you just limited your router access table, shoot to boot you got 4 ports out the back that is included in that number so your leaving one port open for what when you need the 5th for your isp.

www.linksys.com put in your model and download any new firmware, otherwise try resetting it there should be a small pin hole on the back you need a paper click and you going to hold it in for 10-15 seconds then release, This will reset the router back to its factor defaults,

Good luck

Dsl modem = to 3 linksys wrt110 routers for wi-fi ?

What you are trying to do is a rather big job. Hire a company to connect the equipment properly. The headaches you save will be your own. If you install it, you will have to fix it everytime it goes out if you contract someone to install it and you buy a support contract when they install it, THEY get to come fix it and the headache is theirs, not yours. And NEVER install that type of router in an attic, they will overheat and fail very quickly.

You can reset the Linksys back to the factory defaults and the login to the wireless settings and create a new passphrase key.
Power up the router and press the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router for 30 secs.
Open a browser and enter the configuration URL enter the default login and password, you should change the password then go to the wireless settings to change the encryption passphrase and SSID etc.
