From the symptoms you describe, it seems the high voltage flyback autotransformer has failed along with the horizontal amplifier (they are slaved to each other). The sound comes from the flyback unit. It could also be a fractured / cold solder on the PCB or power board.

Well, the only way to solve this is to get a technician take a look at the set, I'm afraid. Repairs could cost upto $100 or more, depending upon the number of components that need to be replaced,

Hope that helps!

TV Making a Loud Noise

this can happen with the flyback transformer's brightness which can be adjusted , also the power transformer can make humming or buzzing sounds which can't be adjusted , also this can happen with the picture tube or the CRT board failing , and sometimes chips with heat sinks or the IC's themselfs

My TV makes a loud buzzing noise whenever there is a bright picture on

This is usually caused by video signals overdriving circuits. Too much video causes what you are describing. This is sometimes caused by a bad cable or connection, either a TV cable or a video cable. Hopefully it's not a projector problem. If you can check the connections from your receivers and VCR with the projector on you might be able to pin point the problem. Be gentle and if there is adoubt about a cable, just replace it.
