Hi, the immobiliser works fine. Its just the plastic mounting with the led and touch pad that has fallen to bits.

When you say the Immobiliser is broken... Do you mean the touch key?
The 8510 touch key is prone to the internal contacts failing. If you open the case up and reconnect it then you should be able to disarm the immobiliser
You should have two touch keys so try your spare on first.
Be warned... You will need 1 working touch key to program a spare or the system will lock out and will need replacing

Hope this helps!

As for Sutty

Sounds like the system has lost power if the LED is not flashing. Have you made sure cars the battery is not flat?

We bought a car secondhand privately,it has a after market immobiliser fitted, we were not given a immobiliser key naturally the people not answering phone, we have fitted a new battery (old one faulty)...

yes you will have to remove it, remove the cover on driverside under the dash, you will see wires coming down the steering column, the main wire may be yellow or red, you will see wire cut and split into mobilizer remove and connect wire back together, they will be the same color, the rest of the wiring can stay as long as the starter wire is reconnected.

Immobiliser and alarm probs on my escort si p reg

Hi, you'll find that it's an aftermatrket immobiliser that is fitted and this is an electronic problem that usually occurs because of cheap products being used(they don't last very long). To stop this you have to by-pass the immobiliser unit(For now. So tou can use the car) and then have an auto elect install a desent unit with a guarantee(when you can). Hope this helps

FTO Toad immobiliser

If you require a transponder in order to start the vehicle, it could be a few problems, could be the immobilizer transponder fob, or the immobilizer antenna, or even the immobilizer brain or relay. Few steps to tell, if the LED light doesn't go out for the immobilizer its the transponder fob. If the light does go out then it could be the antenna, brain or relay. These are the problem areas that can be diagnosed.
