Question about Avenger Sebring Convertible In Dash 6 Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

I have a Chrysler 2010 Sebring. The 6 disc CD player reads Mech Comm Error..., also Clip Off. CD's stuck in the player. It's a rental which has to be returned shortly. How can I extract the CD's ??? I know of 3 which are in there and a 4th one, just out of the blue, popped out all on it's own yesterday.

Something is wrong with the mechanism of the charger. Unfortunately you must disassemble it at least partially if you want to remove the disks by hand. The only thing you can do is to tap on it while pressing the eject button, maybe that will be enough to put the mechanism in motion long enough for you to recover your disks.

You may have to have your stereo "matched" to your car. Your local dealer can usually do this for you

Clarion VRX925VD gives me an error6 code when trying to play dvd's

Error 6.CD error message. Could not read data from disc because it is upside-down. it's mean the problem caused by the optical lens of your DVD..you can try to clean first the surface of the lens..You can clean the lens with rubbing alcohol or one of the lens cleaner discs. If that doesn't work, I would guess the pickup is bad. At which point you would be better off just buying a new CD mech. But, if I remember correctly, most of Clarion's CD mech's are really expensive; 70-160$

It's up to you to decide if you want to replace it or not. Hopefully help

Mech error

Straighten a paperclip. On the face of most disk players there is a small hole. Push the paper clip into the hole, and the disk tray should release. Pull the tray out to it's full extension. Power being on or off is immaterial. Hope this help.

Mech Comm Error

sounds like they may have forgotten to take out transit plugs from radio which holds cd mechanism in place when shipping unless you got a new radio thats a dud? but that may also mean dealer didnt check operation of new unit after replacement if replaced which is what usually needs to be done when this error message comes up

Disc stuck in cd changer

there is a large gear on the top of the cd mech, turn it counterclockwise to put the cd back in the magazine. the changer will probably work after that.
