Sounds like either the defrost timer is bad or defrost thermostat is not engaging. If it works sometimes, then the defrost heater is probably ok. Most likely the timer. It is behind the farthest wall in the freezer. You will have to remove the panel to access it.

It sounds like your defrost timer is bad. I tried to look up some information on it, where located, where you could buy it, etc., but your model number didn't work in Google, so I couldn't find anything on it. There are many refrigeration sites that are helpful, and if you google your make and model number, you should be able to come up with some helpful sites. Here is AEG's support page:

Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps.

try pulling out the fridge very slowly, any signs of hard resistance than stop. there should be a main water shut off back there. if still uncomfortable with this you can always shut the main water off to the house before trying. hope this helps.

Freezer works refrigerator is warm

If the freezer is getting cold and working properly, but fridge section is not getting cold, then it can be defrost issue.------------------ The procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located.--------- Try manual defrost reset procedure: ---- First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If the same problem occurs then it's defrost problem. The defrost board and the defrost thermostat/heater is not functioning properly and it has to be checked and replaced. The defrost assembly consists of three main parts. The defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and defrost board. Any of the one is not functioning. When thermostat sense the maximum cooling, it triggers the defrost heater to start heating and this defrosts the ice collected on the coils and the system works. Both thermostat and heater are controlled by defrost board. First the thermostat and defrost heater to be checked, if both check ok by meter and visually, then its defrost board causing the problem. Frig stopped working but freezer is good? Help... I am handy.

When the freezer section gets cold and reaches its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge section does not cool.
---------------

Its defrost problem. Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 24 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

Brown patch in linoleum, water leakage possibly from refrigerator. NO ICEMAKER. Is it possible condensation leak from freezer?

Check defrost cycle. It's not perfect. Resulting to over frosting around freezer and it clogs drain line. And also check the drain hose no tints or kinks by which drain water flow blocked..
But main reason is only due to defrost cycling malfunction.
First, locate the defrost timer which may hidden behindcorners of the fridge at the back bottom, in some models located in the ceilingof the fresh food section or behind the cold control cover. Once you locate thedefrost timer, slowly turn the screw in the middle of the defrost timer withstraight screwdriver until the fridge shuts off. Now it's in defrost. If thedefrost heater(s) starts, replace the defrost timer and defrost thermostat. Ifthe heater(s) does not start, unplug wire cord to check ohm test for continuityof heater. If continuity is there, plug cord wire which gives power 120volts(check specification) to heater. If heater no starts, bypass defrost thermostatby join the 2 wires in the defrost thermostat. If the heater now comes on,replace the defrost timer and defrost thermostat. If the heater itself is bad, replace it. Thanks and hope helpful.
