Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

It sounds like a tripped hi-limit thermostat based on your description.

I would need you to provide the model number to instruct you how to find it and then reset it since there are several variations of the Siemens dryers..

The number should be located on a white sticker inside the door opening, if not there check on the back.

I`ll watch for your reply and respond asap.

    Hello again,

I was reviewing my post`s and just wanted to follow-up on your inquiry.

Did you manage to find the hi-limit thermostat, or was it indeed something else or are you still experiencing trouble ?

Let me know how you made out or if you still require assistance.

    Hello,

    Welcome to FixYa.

There are a couple of scenarios which may prevent the dryer from starting with Bosch.

To save time and back and forth dialog, I`ll mention the most likely based on your description...and what to do about it.

**Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair tips suggested here please...safety first**

There is an auto shut off or emergency kill switch next to the motor which will prevent it to start in the event it was tripped for whatever reason... likely from an excessive load. Though it is possible the belt has broken.

The "kill switch" will look like this image below and all you need to do is push it to the right ( from the back )...

    i.e.

If you`ve already taken the back of the dryer off to gain access you should have no problem. If you never have, it`ll take some time.

Either Scenario I alluded to ( the other would be resetting the hi-limit cut out, you can see through the back vent opening when the vent is removed and then by pushing the red button in...shown below ) both require the removal of the rear panel so let me know if you require further assistance to do this.

    hi-limit - i.e.

Keep me posted how you make out or if anything is not clear.

I don't often partake here at Fixya these days...too busy in my day to day life, but I hope this helps. Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

My GE Dryer Model #DJXR433EG1WW will not turn on. It will not turn on and the dials don't turn right.

It sounds like your door switch is not closed. This switch has to be closed in order for power to be available at the start button. Open your door and manually push the button in and then carefully push your start button provided you have turned the timer on. If you are handy you can by pass and jumper out the door switch. The other possibility is if you can hear the motor quietly start when you push the start button your belt may have come off the pulley and the motor is just spinning.

Dryer turns on but does not start when i push the start button. The timer comes on all the buttons light up, light is on inside dryer, but does not start just makes a sound when i hit the start button

if it's a humming sound the motor is bad or something is jammed keeping the motor from spinning.open the dryer door and move the drum by hand if the drum can't be moved the belt could be jammed on something or there's something stuck in the blower wheel.the blower wheel is behind the duct that the lint filter slides into.if you can move the drum then you most likely have a bad motor, try spinning the drum and push the door switch in and have someone else push the push to start button and see if the dryer will start,if the motor has a flat spot it could start like this.let me know what you find

Check out the door switch. Push it in as far as you can by hand and hold then hhave someone try and start it. If that works you need a new door switch

Dryer wont start - no lights

Dryer door does not think it is closed. There is a sensor on the top of the door that is probably not making contact with the door. Trying pushing the top part of the door and holding it then press the start button.. if the unit starts running then you know what it is. I just had one of these dryers delivered today and had to find out about this by myself tonight!!

if possible, with the door open, push the limit switch the door normally hits to let the drier know the door is shut. That switch may be bad.
