Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator has water in bottom refrigerator

when the machine goes into defrost the heater in the freezer comes on and melts all frost off of the evaporator coil, the water goes down a drain line down to where the compressor and condensor coil is and there the water evaporates, your drain is blocked so the water can't drain down and leaks into the fridge section.when you write looking for answers you have to send the model number off of the machine,if the freezer is on top open the fridge door and look on the left side wall up near the ceiling and there should be a tag with model number, unplug the fridge or shut down the cold control, remove everything from the freezer and remove the back inside wall of the freezer, with a hair dryer melt out all the ice under the evap coil,i use a steamer to clean out the drain,if you don't have one you can try a turkey baster or anything that will push air or water down the drain hole, when you think the drain is clear pour hot water into the hole,if it drains down then it's clear,if not keep hitting it,you can also heat up the back center wall and ceiling in the fridge section to help melt out the ice.there's also a heater probe you can buy that you stick into the drain and it raps around the heater, when the heater comes on the probe heats up and keeps the drain from freezing up,you can also use a ground wire from an electrical piece of house wire or from a cable wire, cut a piece around 6 inches, stick it into the hole and rap the end around the heater,if it's a glass heater connect the wire to the metal in front of the heater,if 6 inches is to long trim it down a little so it fits.good luck,if you need anymore help let me know.

Maytag side by side fridge not connected to any water source stand alone system except electricity. approximately 500 ml puddle of water underneath vents are clean but unsure where water is coming from...

This is what it sounds like to me. The defrost system melts away the frost in the cooling coils every 6 or 8 hours. This water goes into a tray at the bottom of the freezer compartment. there is a drain spout in the bottom of the tray. The water then goes through that into a plastic drip pan. This sits behind the vent below the doors. While the fridge is running, the water evaporates out into the the room. If the pan is missing, or cracked for some reason, the water goes onto the floor.
And that's were the water is coming from. The Fridge is not broken.
With the model number of the fridge, probably located on a placard inside the fresh food compartment, or possibly the freezer compartment, you can order a new drip pan from a parts supply house for something like $25.00 The easiest thing to do would be to put in it's place an inexpensive aluminum pan of sorts. that usually will do the trick and save money.
I hope this helps,
Happy New Year,
Mark

GE GSS22JFMC when I press the water button it leaks

That's where the water line runs to get to the dispenser. You may have to remove the cardboard backing to see it. The line runs from the water inlet valve. That's where the supply line from the house connects to the fridge. One line goes up to the ice maker and the other goes over to the fridge side where it goes inside the fridge behind the crisper to a reservoir where the water is chilled before it goes to the dispenser. Look for the water coming out when someone else tries the dispenser. Look for a fitting that has come loose.

Fridge keeps freezing all food even at the loest setting and freezer is much colder than normal

This would in all likelihood mean you have a bad thermostat, usually located right behind the knob which goes to off. Send model # from tag on fridge for part lookup.

Ice maker hooked up for the first time doesn't work.

Hi, The storage is usually on the back fridge wall near bottom. Your answer indicates the demand solenoid is not operating. You will need to check wiring connection at the solenoid, and at the ice maker plug. Best of luck.

Ice maker not making ice whirlpool gold side by side

  1. Water comes from water pipe, usually with a shut off valve (open??).
  2. Fridge has a small filter (for sand etc.) at inlet. (not clogged??)
  3. Water travels to solenoid valve, and waits for request. (do you hear it click when water requested??)
  4. Water usually goes to a fine filter..(these fail (plug) quite regularly).
  5. Water goes through storage in back of cool section (Inside fridge- is it full of water?).
  6. Water goes to ice maker on fill request.
  7. ?? Is the power switch "on" (to icemaker)??
  8. ?? Is the full / stop filling paddle/bar up?
  9. ...ask me more questions

Amana Icemaker not working

Sign guy, you have a bad water valve on your fridge. It's allowing a very small amount of water to bypass it and enter into the freezer section Ice Maker fill tube where it freezes. (I always pull those fill tubes out through the back of the fridge and run them under hot water, then blow through them to ensure that it's clear.) You'll need a new valve assy. for it. Open the fridge door and find the data tag, get the model number off of it and call your local appliance parts place. It'll be a dual coil valve assembly.

No water to door

Did you change any settings resently or move the fridge? Water line could be kinked. Could be a frozen water line. If the ice maker is set on rapid ice, turn it off. You could turn the temp setting down for a day to see if that helps. Do you have any leaks behind or under the fridge? Check the filter again, make sure you pulled the shipping tag off and that it is seated properly. Freezer temp could be set too cold. Make sure the freezer door closes properly and that there isn't anything hendering it.
